I don't think he does. I still think he has the power to stop Dawson but doesn't have the workrate to beat him through 12 rounds. I see Dawson outboxing and outworking winning a UD, Possibly stopping Tarver late.

i think tarver will win but i wont be surprised if he loses to dawson.. people say tarver was impressive against woods.. i wasnt impressed woods is garbage.. tarver didnt look that good against santiago and tiago isnt that good of a fighter.. tarver does have enough experience and power to beat tarver.. if dawson lands alot of body shots early and doesnt fall for any of tarver's traps, then he can win

I don't think so, his legs don't look fresh anymore so I don't think he can get out of the way of Dawson's punches the way he used to be able to and he's never really dealt well with pressure, Harding was able to get to him with sustained, educated pressure, Johnson was able to give him a lot of problems with his pressure, Jones had his best moments against Tarver when he pressured him, so as long as Dawson has the right gameplan and doesn't get caught, he should win. Tarver can still punch though so Dawson will have to watch out for counter left hands, Tarver has a good way of sneaking those shots in there.

I don't think so... you can suddenly get real old in a fight that doesn't follow your game plan.

I just really hope Eddie Muhammad fixes Dawson's mistakes, (mainly his defense) and gets back to form offensively, because if he doesn't Dawson could lose this match.

As for Tarver I don't know what to say about him, he's getting older, and has regressed, not the fighter he used to be 4 years ago, but then again he started his career late. It all depends which fighter shows up, if Tarver and Dawson both show up 100% it's going to be one hell of a fight. My biggest concern is Dawson himself. From what I've seen he's actually regressed since leaving Mayweather Sr. And it's not like Dawson needs Mayweather Sr. because he looked good under Dan Birmingham and IceMan John Sully, (his other previous trainers) but Mayweather Sr. had Dawson fighting the way he's suppose to be fighting, using the jab, head movement, and fighting intelligently. Mayweather Sr. likes to work on head movement and defense, something Dawson needs to improve on. This is really a 50/50 fight.

I am a big Dawson fan but you watch him get by Adamek in a fight in which he struggled badly in late and then win a close decision over Johnson and all of a sudden he would "kill" Calzaghe? I mean really, wtf? obliterates him lol. bigger, stronger, faster. adamek and johnson have more power then calzaghe, i dont see him being able to hurt chad. the question is does dawson gas late or just get in trouble banging?

It doesnt really matter what he could do to Mr. Slappy, because that fight aint happening. Dawson doesnt bring enough money or exposure to the table. IMO at most Cal will take one last fight with Pavlik. he'll get exposure after beating Tarver and if Roy Jones keeps talking bout the winner of that fight and Chad responding
