Does anyone else hold the opinion that Wladimir Klitschko is a little harshly dealt with when it comes to the Ring's p4p ratings?
I am the first one to acknowledge that the competition at HW is not spectacular but personally I can't see how he can do any more than he currently is. He is continually facing top contenders and knocking them out. Has he become a victim of his division? Personally I think he should be in there at number 8 or 9 at least.
I agree that he is a victim of #1 being in a division that has never been very highly thought of in the p4p rankings #2 a very shit hw era.
I don't think wlad is a very good representative of the hw division but nevertheless, I have made a rule to put atleast 1 hw in my top 10 p4p.
Its the most vast division in boxing. I don't know how between 100-200 pounds there are 16 divisions but 200+ there is only 1. ppl are gonna argue that its the % in size difference that makes it different but really I find it difficult to swallow that the announcers in the mosley-mayorga fight were saying how mayorgas 7pounds on mosley was such a power and strength advantage but yet in the hw division fighters sometimes have 50+ pounds of weight difference and it isn't nearly as highly viewed.
if calderon were to step up and beat even an average cruiserweight, it would be a huge deal in boxing but chagaev beating valuev wasn't nearly the big deal as it should have been.
at the end of the day, the p4p list is what you make it and everyone has their own point of view on who should be on that list and how high they should be ranked.
The Ring Magazine has always been biased towards American fighters are prejudiced against European fighters
Wlad definitely deserves to be in the top 10 p4p
I have him at #8 on my p4p list
