Andre Berto will get chinned when he fights better competition ive been saying it for ages and watching him last night just reinforced my opinion he takes too many chances holds his hands to low when coming foward and he is wide open IMO the fact that he throws combinations and has great speed allows him to get away with it to an extent
a good defence is a good offence and all that ,but mark my words he will get owned when he fights a banger who can box a little aswell
If berto gets passed Collazo, then a fight with Cotto would make sense but I don't think his management team has the balls to put berto in against a fighter like Cotto
I hope he fights Cotto, Berto's tailor made for a fighter like him. Berto isn't that chinny, just a bit sloppy any fighter could get caught with those punches most just know better from experience. However where Berto lacks (except if some of you count the chin), Cotto excels
His defense could be improved, but you gotta gauge his D when he fights somebody wit power he has to respect. Forbes wasn't gonna damage him, so it figures a boxer/puncher like him would be a lil reckless.
It was way better than Mosley-Mayorga, but I wouldn't label it as a "must see".
Well, I will check it out.
It's something to watch for a while, Even though I already know the result.
I like berto..
Hes explosive and fun to watch..
However, he has NOT been in the ring with a puncher.. Never..
I saw from round 7 and on, and Forbes made it competitive.. It was not like a hugee blowout.. Forbes landed some good shots on the face and body..
Lets see how he handles a LEGIT welter, Collazo who is a good fight IMO..
I think Berto will win that fight.. But collazo still isnt a big puncher either
exactly when Cosmo Rivera,David Estrada,Forbes are catchin or having you hurt or over then it tells you what might happen if he fights a top WW who can punch a bit
he was never hurt...
and i think he was baiting forbes most of the time just to land his uppercuts
yes and no you will want to see it because its Berto latest performance but there was a lot of breaks in the action etc
i was not really entertained by it all that much TBH but then again it was 2/3 in the morning here and i was tired and drunk
I'll watch it, if I get bored i'll just turn it off and watch something else. I had to record it, couldn't watch live.
I won a few bets though, shame I got my ass banned so I can't enjoy them until October
Shit, that reminds me. I need to make an avatar for Darkstar to use..
His defense looked better yesterday. During most of his combinations his shoulders and chin were in good position.
He's looked open at times but he's not hopelessly flawed. I think his defensive weaknesses will continue to slowly disappear.
I didn't get a chance to watch Berto-Forbes yet, is it worth watching?

let me tell you something Berto would not have seen the latter part of the fight had he fought Margarito i gurantee that
if they ever fight, we have a bet...:boxing:
He should get Mayweather Sr in his corner, but he wont get owned as badly as Cotto did, thats for sure
the kid can fight 12 rounds and doesnt get tired
he definitely should hire floyd sr. or at the least jeff mayweather for defense... for strategy they might go with someone else tho.
