After their recent performances, cotto getting tko'd by marg in round 11, and williams scoring 2 first round KO's in a row, one being a middleweight, who takes this?
1) how will cotto perform after being battered by Marg?
2) will cotto be highly determined to beat the man who beat him? (williams beating marg)
3) how will williams perform, going back down to 147?
4) will cotto be able to land body shots on williams, and cause damage to williams? something he was unable to do against marg?
5) will cotto have a better chance if he goes back to his usual coming forward style, against williams, or have a better chance by outboxing williams?
6) will williams' new commitment to power punching be able to hurt Cotto?
7) the reach/height difference is pretty high, too.
Thats really not a good comparison...You can always flip it around too! Williams can go back and look at the Margorito fight....See the point I'm making here...That triangle effect doesnt work in sports...period.
Wut do u mean ray?
What I'm saying is that Pwill is beatable with good movement and accurate timed punches.
Thats all doode..
^^LMAO!..when did Malignaggi "stun" Cotto?..
1:11 and 3:40
i'll admit when i watched it the other night i they looked better but none the less cotto deff felt those... theirs probably more i just dont feel like watchin the whole fight again right now.
Sionce when Williams have better defense than Margarito, since when Williams hit hard, and if you watch the Cotto-Margarito fight, Cotto didnt when down with any punch, and he was getting hit cleanly and very hard the hole fight. Quintana is not nearly the Boxer or the power Puncher cotto is and he when in and out and whooped Williams for 12 rounds in the first fight!!!!!!
I agree. If Quintana can box Williams' ears off then why can't Cotto?
Williams would beat cotto worse than Margarito did.
Williams has a higher work rate than margarito
Williams is a 5x time the boxer margarito is
Williams Jab would notify anything cotto does.
cotto should keep fighting fighters like gomez. and keep it pushing
You mean nullify.

Williams is next P4P 1 fighter too right!??!?

If this fight happens I think it would be a big challenge for Cotto but I still think he can beat Williams. He is the superior boxer and Williams, but the height might be a big factor, Cotto needs to be faster and have a better stamina in this division where there are a lot of opponents bigger than him.
i think Cotto would win because again im a huge believer of the idea that styles make fights. not that williams is a great matchup for Cotto but against Williams he would be able to fight inside unlike in the margarito fight because i believe williams can be hurt and i dont think he could take the Cotto's punches like margarito could although well few fighters can do that. Williams can fight inside too but maybe im crazy but i think Cotto has as much power as Williams so he's not at that big as disadvantage in that area. and i dont understand people that say that Cotto cant take other people's punches because man i was surprised that Cotto was able to take all the damage he took throught that fight against margarito and still make it to the 11th, Cotto showed he can take a lot of damage! i think people's problem here is that they saw the great clean shots that margarito took and it makes them think that Cotto's is a wuss for going down against less damage when in reality great body punching is a lot more damaging and wears down your body so ****in fast that its scary! Basically the fight would comedown to the fact if Williams could control the fight with his great jab because if its a fight fought on the outside then Williams dominates this fight easily because of his great reach! but if Cotto gets inside then he has the advantage and he is more skilled than williams so he can set up a lot of different ways n combos to hurting williams. Thats how i think Cotto wins fighting him tough and with skill inside!

pwill is even more unrelenting than margarito and has better defence than margarito. pwill will beat cotto.
They may both be tall but Margarito is an extreme pressure fighter, Paul Williams is not. He doesn't have much punching power despite his last two KO victories so Cotto won't be backing up like he was doing against Margarito.
Paul Williams' style is not the same as Marg's, Cotto by UD or body punch KO.
I already said Cotto would lose.
I guess I'm in denial if a guy known as an average puncher turned into a devastating one in 6 months time.
I agree with you I wouldn't call Williams a devastating puncher but at the sametime you have to give him some credit. Like he said prior to his last fight or after he is now sitting down on his punches and committing to strong jab. You have to admit that the results so far have been above average.
Just because a fighter might be low level skill wise or compared to his opponent that doesn't mean that said person's chin is weak.
It's tough to say. Cotto is the superior boxer, and I think he might be able to pull it off. We need to see how he can bounce back. It's just to hard to pick right now.
Its Cotto damn stupid ass illeterat fagets cant even spell. Now santos maybe could ko margarito, but williams surley can knockout santos.and gamboa can surley knockout all of them but clotteys can easilt destory williams. you should g back to your job at the mall as a rent a cop.
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
Clottery stays covered-up too long..that works against a SLOW mofo like Tony..but Williams has something Tony only dreams of having..and that is SPEED.
Williams is fast, but he would get countered a lot too. I wouldn't be surprised if Clottey stunned or hurt him on the inside. Williams would probably win UD, because of his workrate, but physically Clottey could get inside and get very rough. Things would get interesting then, seeing as when Quintana got on the inside he was able to score a hell of a lot.
