Yeah!? Fuck didnt see that coming!

whoa!!!! Mike Tyson got stopped in the amateurs by a guy who became a virtual nobody in the pros and ended his career on a 4-6 record? that is stunning.
They did have at least one common opponent in the amateurs...Al Evans of Chicago..anyone want to guess how those two fights turned out?
Go on then what happened? Tyson KO 1st round and Biggs KO 3rd round, Wild Guess!
To my knowledge they never fought as amatures but Biggs got a spot on the Olympic team and won gold, Tyson failed to get a spot bieng beaten by Tillman and thus resented Biggs and made him pay in the pro's, even making him cry during the fight apparently lol!
And, CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF. Tyson was far more than an average amateur...Mike Tyson was a very accomplished amateur who score wins over NUMEROUS other top rated amateurs
I'm almost sure that the two didn't face in the amateurs.

Old boxingscene thread with some information on Tyson's amateur career.
Another case of a decent amateur not being able to make the step up into the pros.Didn't Mathis defeat Joe Frazier in the trials for a place in the 1964 Olympic Heavyweight team?He injured himself afterwards and Joe took his place.
Later Joe KOd him in the pros
