Ok, I just watched the fight expecting to see a different and better Juan Diaz but i did not. Juan Diaz NEEDS A NEW TRAINER, also as i have said before Diaz should be at 130. He is way too pudgy at 135. I don't wanna hear none of that is baby fat bs. The kid is too small to be coming in at 135 and still be pudgy.
So my summary for recommendation for Diaz would be... loose the trainer get a new one that is going to teach him how to actually come forward and be effective, cause some chaos, teach him better balance and foot work so that when get gets in on the inside he is actually in a comfortable position and not on his heels.
If Diaz doesn't change anything what makes him think he is going to be any better than the guy that lost to Campbell. Diaz should get in contact with Jesus's Chavez trainer... they would match really good.

Dude he was in there with top competition in Katsidas...many picked him to pose this fight. As far as being on his heels it was because Katsidas was trying to push him back wards and to the ropes all night. Diaz kept circling and boxing. he did an excellent job in beating a forward brawling puncher that has 20 KO's in 24 fights. Yes he did get hit but that often happens when the person throwing puncehs throws from all angles and has a high output of punches. the thing is he never got hurt and was never in trouble. I was fully impressed with his come back fight after loss to Campbell. Most fighters would have took a easy fight and cruised but he took on a game fighter with a high ranking in the division and won easily. As far as looking pudgy I can't ever remember seeing cubes on his stomach in any of his fights. Maybe a nutricianist and some harder training will help him get rid of the baggae round his belly area but it didn't seem to affect his stamina nor did it affect his ability to take body shots. I strongly disagraa with you sir and if you have seen Diaz fight I can remember him beating a few of his opponents into submission where they quit on their stools. Fritas was one of them....Lefty
He put on a boxing clinic against a brawler. Many people thought Diaz would be sucked into a fight. He was not and just boxed him silly for 12 rounds. Almost a shut out. What else do you want
I think he wants the girl in my avatar to service him while he watches the fight over and maybe he will have a different opinion next time...Lefty
Casamayor Knock down Katsidis 4 times and Knock him out with one left hook.. Diaz couldn't even hurt Katisidis or just wobble him.. Juan Diaz is a B class fighter and will soon get dismantled.
Casamayor was also losing anywhere from 4-6 rounds at the stoppage.
Katsidis barely won any against diaz
He looked fine to me, threw very good combinations, showed good footwork, a tight guard and showed an excellent jab which I hadn't seen before, it nullified almost everything Katsidis wanted to do.
Just because he doesn't have a 6 pack and a ripped physique doesn't mean he isn't in good condition, he has very good stamina.
And he doesn't need to change trainers, Ronnie Shields is a very good trainer and gives him good advice in the corner, it's Katsidis that needs a new trainer.
Diaz doesn't need a new trainer, Katsidis needs a new god damn trainer! The worst trainer in the sport today, hands down!
I just hope he can come back. We need guys like Katsidis. He will always deliver a good, exciting fight, no matter what's happening. I was really bummed. He could have easily won the Casa fight and he had a good chance against Diaz but his corner just has no clue whatsoever, at all, in any way. He shouldn't even be allowed near any boxing gym.
What are u talking about? Shields is a GREAT trainer. Some fighters have different physiques than others. Miranda was ripped at 60 n 68 thats just his body type look Pavlik at 60 and 68 his physique is the same in both classes he's just loose muscled. Physiques don't always tell the whole story of a fighter.
Yep image if he moves like pacquiao(also volume puncher) he could be unbeatable.
Pacquiao has more speed on his side, in his hands, body and foot movement.
I don't think any fighter is unbeatable. styles, fights, etc.
There's a difference between one-punch power and cumulative punishment. Acelino Freitas and Julio Diaz didn't stay on their stools because they were out of breath.Yep imagine if he moves like pacquiao(also a volume puncher) he could be unbeatable.
Juan Diaz can't punch.. The only dangerous is his shouting everytime he punch.

At the start of this year Diaz held three of four title belts and was widely considered to be the best at 135. He's lost once.
You think he not only doesn't belong in the division, but that he should leave a division in which he is highly competitive, a division that is one of the deepest in boxing.
Nice managing job there.

Ditto. I think he needs a new trainer that would mold him to be more dynamic not just come forward fighting stance. He already have the other qualities though (stamina, endurance, good chin and heart).
:boxing:
Diaz for me is above average in stamina but lacks power and his style is not yet on Campbel, guzman ,pacquiao et.al level. The way I saw him yesterday I didn't see any improvement at all, he still looks the same like the campbell fight or maybe its just that katsidis style is taylor made for him. Right now any tactical elite fighter can own him imo.
:boxing:
Diaz is no better than the third-best boxer in his division and probably fourth-best, at least until Casamayor officially becomes shot. He looked good yesterday because he was fighting a no-talent bum.
Diaz lost to Cambell because Cambell sunk viscious body punches into him all night long and they slowed him down after the 6th round
Yeh Kat should of gone to the body more to try and slow Diaz down..
On the plus side for Diaz his jab was wicked and his Uppercut caught Kat
a few times..
Good fight it was..
Yeah diaz didnt do anything different really, it was a solid win and I like the guy but I cant really say I see him beating nate based on what we saw last night.
Do you think Cuts effect fighters? When their eye is almost shut? In your opinion do you think a fighter is still able to fight to the best of his ability with those conditions?
yes i do think cuts effect fighters but it is something that particular fighter has to deal with
Diaz eye was not closed to the point where he could not see through it and it only got worse in the last few rounds IMO
bottom line is the better fighter won on the night thats all im saying
