I'm sure many will already have said this, but Pacquiao's advantages are basically his speed, dynamism, aggression and workrate. ODLH is quite old and has that stiff mechanical style so its quite easy to envisage Pac bouncing around him throwing tons of punches and really unsettling him.
Unfortunately, one of the biggest advantages Pac usually has, which makes his style work, is his power, and thats not going to be as much of a factor here. De La Hoya, having boxed as high as MW, really should be able to live with LW power, even when its exceptional.
Another thing is that De La Hoya for all his age and stiff mechanicalness, really has the kind of style Pac doesn't like. We've seen Morales and Marquez both negate a lot of Pacs game simply by sticking him with the jab when he tries to come in, and De La Hoya's size and height mean his will be even more effective and powerful then theirs could ever be. If Pac can't get at you, then he can't beat you and this is where his problem is going to lie, he'll really feel it every time Oscar sticks him.
I actually don't completely rule out a Pacman victory, he's a fighting machine, but in the end its hard to look past Oscar making his natural advantages tell.
i'll tell you later who i am. you can't tell any of the guys though.
i've been here on nsb for years. that's how i got my rep to 15000 when we had unlimited k. it would've been higher but malvada spent 2 straight days doing nothing but red k me...... :D
i like this new account more since i made it earlier this year.
2tough... I would have never guessed...
Oscar's got lightning combos but he can only do that in spurts and can't sustain it consistently for 12 rounds like Pac can. The thing is that he may not need 12 rounds...lol, but it'll be interesting if Pac's able to hang in there up to the championship rounds still in some reasonable shape especially if he's successful in forcing a high pace beforehand.
Okay, What if Pacman applies everything he had learned from fighting Marquez and then applies his fury like with Diaz, won't this give him a better chance at winning?
A prayer to Jesus might give Pacman a better chance at winning, lol. Ya, pacman did good with Marquez and Diaz, but this time hes going against a welther who was once a middleweight, all it will take for DLH is a good punch or wait for Pac to tire out in the late rds and knock him out. Looks like u have high hopes for Pac honey, but I think you should add a DLH pic on your sig destroying pac come Dec 6:smashfrea
Hi Sexy: What are those skills that Pacman doesn't possess?
Miss, Pacman aint a good technican boxer like DLH, he likes to start fast and go at it and DLH will counter all that..if you get what I mean..
Pacman has a overall speed advantage. He will also have better stamina because Oscar has not got down to 147 so that will take something out of him. Comming up and not having to really burn weight should also help Pacman's stamina unless he softens his training to much because he does not have to worry about weight.
interesting
I also dont think Pac has more hand speed than DLH. Greater work rate 4 sure even though we probly wouldnt be able to tell if this fight goes the way I see but definitely not faster hands than Oscar. Very few people in the history of boxing has ever had faster hands than Oscar
