What will have More Eminent Drawing Power: Pac vs.Oscar or Oscar vs. FLOYD
This Fight will Settle it all About Who is the bigger draw, and Who really has the bigger fanbase in the last few years.
And Ultimately who was the face of boxing for the last few years from a drawing standpoint.
In the year 2007 Floyd was KING of the Box Office
Floyd Headline The Bouts That helped make 2007 HBO's best year in Pay-Per-View history -- 4.8 million buys and more than $255 million in revenue. The previous high for HBO PPV in boxing was in 1999 with four million buys and $200 million in revenue.
Will PacMan vs. Oscar sell do better than Oscar vs.FLOYD ....????
or even
Will Pacman vs. Oscar do better than Hatton vs. FLOYD ..???
For Fun
Will Pacman vs. Oscar do better than BigShow vs. FLOYD ...?(:cool2:)
Circumstances:
Floyd vs. Oscar:
Sold out in Three hours
Sold More than 2.15 million Buys at $54.95 for the fight, Those numbers produced the highest grossing fight in boxing history, $134.4 million domestically and $165 million worldwide, and a record $19 million live gate.
Broke every boxing record there was....
Floyd was the P4P#1 Fighter in the Sport.
Mayweather vs. Hatton
Sold out in 30 minutes.
Sold More than 2.05 million Buys at 54.95 worldwide
Broke every boxing record there was in the United Kingdom
Just For Fun:
2008: Mayweather vs. Big Show (:thinkerg:)(:cool2:)
Sold more than 1.1 million pay-per-view buys
Now My Argument to end all Arguments...Are 2 Arguments
1. If Manny Pacqauio is really more Popular than Floyd...
This Fight Should break What Floyd vs. Oscar did on P.P.V
2. If Oscar De La Hoya was Majority of the reason for the Floyd vs. Oscar doing so well.
Than this fight with another P4P#1 Fighter in the World should Prove it.
Because the Circumstances are the same. Meaning Once again Oscar is fighting the #1 P4P fighter in the Sport.
Similarities:
Look Pacquaio is Pound 4 Pound #1 fighter just Like Floyd was.
This Fight is going to get a 24/7 Just like The Floyd got with Oscar
Oscar is still reguarding as the most Popular Fighter in the Sport just like he was with Floyd
So As a result their should be No excuses.
This fight will ultimately Prove 2 things
1. Who really sold the first Fight Out of Oscar and Floyd
2.This fight will Prove if Manny Pacqauio can draw the same amount of P.P.V's Floyd did with Oscar De La hoya
If Manny Pacquaio vs. Oscar De La Hoya doesn't beat the P.P.V numbers that
Floyd Mayweather vs. Oscar De La Hoya did....Than there can be no more arguments about the 2 Arguments I presented in this Thread.
If I am Proven Right Than thats tells you two things....
1. Floyd was Majority of the reason for the Huge P.P.V success and for the fight selling out in 3 hours in the fight with Oscar
2. Manny Pacquaio with the same Opponent doesnt compare to Floyd, and He does not have the same drawing Power as Floyd.
Let's Remember,Manny Has a whole Country behind him so their is no Excuse.!
Because I remember when people were saying if "Manny Pacquaio were fighting Oscar it would have broke all PPV Records Too...."
Well now it's time to find out The Truth.
Just a question. If De La Hoya and Hatton do fight in Wembley next year, will that have any effect on the US PPV buys. Will it being in a huge stadium in another country help, hurt, or not make a difference?
simple...answer yes p.p.v's in the united states will still be counted

If the economy is so bad, Why did UFC 91 Just do more than 800,000 orders of the Nov. 15 event and stands to take in a minimum of $35,960,000 in revenue.
Do you think this fight will do better than Hatton vs. Floyd??
Post all you want to try and prove the economic recession is bogus. Trust me...it isn't. Spending has crashed and retail sales is down. This economy nothing like the economy of a few years ago. Your question is unqualified when it comes to the economy. Therefore, it's an unfair question as it's stated.
Answer me these questions:
Is boxing as popular as UFC in America right now?
Does boxing get as much mainstream coverage as UFC?
Is there major boxing cards on basic cable networks?
In 2008 UFC is out marketing Boxing
In 2007 UFC didnt Come Close to Boxing!
Is boxing as popular as UFC in America right now?
Boxing will always be more popular than UFC..
Nothing Beats a Highly anticipated Boxing Match.
De La hoya vs. Floyd Proved that in 2007
Hatton vs. Floyd Proved that in 2007
But in 2008, We had a bunch of OLD people fighting each other,
and alot of Non-American Fighters fighting each other.
and No compelling storylines that the public can be draw too.
The better question is which sport is marketing itself better right now...
UFC would be the answer
Is there major boxing cards on basic cable networks?
Showtime
HBO
Espn 2
Espn Classic
verses
Their are more Free Boxing Matches on Tv, then Free UFC match ups.
As of right now you can watch a free boxing match every weekend.
you cant do that with the ufc.
Hatton vs. De La Hoya does the best.. Mayweather doesn't have the fan base or support that Hatton has.. De La Hoya sells just being De La Hoya.
Pacquiao vs. Floyd probably does the worst.
Ok, Thanks for your Honest Opinion.

I will level with you...
Which Fight do you think would did the worst and the best on P.P.V in any order :
1.Pacquaio vs. Floyd
2.Pacquaio vs. De La Hoya
3.Pacquaio vs. Hatton
4.Hatton vs. De La Hoya
5.De La Hoya vs. Floyd 2
6.Hatton vs. Floyd 2
Hatton vs. De La Hoya does the best.. Mayweather doesn't have the fan base or support that Hatton has.. De La Hoya sells just being De La Hoya.
Pacquiao vs. Floyd probably does the worst.
No this fight will NOT determine who is the bigger draw because of the ECONOMY. During the economy of the Floyd v. Oscar fight, I believe that Pacquiao v. Oscar would draw more money. But now? Probably not.
On the other hand, place the Oscar v. Floyd fight in today's economy against the Oscar v. Pacquiao fight..........I'd say the Pacquiao fight wins because Pacquiao has the excitement factor with him. Floyd has too many boring fights on his resume.

Do you think this fight will do better than Hatton vs. Floyd??
I'm sad to say this but boxing doesn't have the same appeal right now as UFC does in the US of A. The Haye fight did wonderful in the UK.. but that's the UK. This is America.
I think it'll do around 800k but no more.. Like I said, if Oscar wouldn't of had that loss against Mayweather and been coming off the win vs. Mayorga.. (that really helped sell the Floyd fight) and people weren't losing their homes and such it would be different.
For example.. last Black Friday did so much better then this one.
I looked around town and the lines weren't nearly as big at Best Buy and Circuit City and other stores.
I will level with you...

If More than 800,000 homes decided to buy the UFC, why cant we expect
the same..with the two biggest draws in the sport of boxing??

Yet another dumb and biased thread by WhoreIs.
The financial market and economic climate was a lot better when the DLH v. Mayweather fight happened.. If this fight would have been made around the same time or before it would have been just as big, maybe even bigger.
Now, it won't be.. why? because De La Hoya has yet another loss and people are struggling with the economic crisis. This is yet another shit thread by WhoreIs.
Good job!! You managed to contribute nothing yet again to the forum!

Floyd Mayweather's drawing power is limited to pornographic MTV and die hard boxing fans. Pacquio can draw because of ethnic I guess so is case with De La Hoya.

Dont use that economy bullshit...
because ufc 91 just did around 800,000 P.P.V's
In all honesty, Pac v. Delahoya will do better. I think they'll have less ppv in the states. But, Delahoya v. Pac is being sold for a lot of money to the Phillipines, then you have a big Europe audience. But i don't think it'll make so much more then Delahoy v. Mayweather JR.
Co-sign. The shit about PPVs and all that gets way too much play. We should just enjoy the fights.
de la hoya started it. as a reason why he duck Mayweather for 6 years
