I Doubt A Prime Margarito Could Beat A Prime Oscar.

Margarito could possibly have his moments in the later rounds if he is able to walk through Oscar's best punches (and that's a big if). I doubt Margarito would be able to win though, if De La Hoya were at his best.

man margarito has taken on the most powerfull punchers on welterweight yet i still see his chin not getting that much respect, just who does he has to take a punch from so people can see he cant be koed? mayorga? forrest? It's impressive at WW, but it's not as if he is taking monstrous punches from guys a foot taller and weighing thirty pounds more, being five divisions above his natural weight and against the hardest punchers i the division ie. James Toney fighting Sam Peter (among other heavies). It's probably as much him being so much bigger than all the other WW's. We all saw what happened when he fought at 154 with a guy as big as he was. He was knocked around and staggered a bunch of times and has been put on the canvas by WW's and Santos. I think Tito in his prime would have knocked him out. Great chin but he isn't Hagler. Hearns would have taken him out as well. Oh, and I think there is no question that a prime Oscar would beat Margarito pretty easy. He knows how to box, clinch, stay in the middle, buy time etc etc much, much better than Cotto did. If Cotto knew how to box properly he would have won that fight easily without question as well.

I 2nd that. I'd honestly be more surprised if Oscar fought Pac than Margarito right now. I think Oscar still might have what it takes to beat him. If they do fight, my money will most likely be on Oscar.
