p4p I picked Valero, his shots sound so brutal. I guess he's unproven though..so maybe its overrated.
the hardest puncher on the list is Lennox Lewis though, if p4p isn't considered.
EDIT: like the above said, Julian Jackson is a serious contender for the hardest p4p puncher to date, Mcclellan and Thomas Hearns are some other good contenders. Mike Tyson for being a smaller heavyweight that hit harder than fighters 2 times his size.
I said Rosario, although it could also be Foster. that man could crack.
knockout percentages dont really mean anything.
Black....
Those who witnessed Rosario back in the 80's....know they were seeing one of the better punchers they've seen.
His KO of Viruet was devastating. The one over Bramble really was a frightening offensive display, against a fighter thought to be almost impossible to hurt.
Yeah, that man could hit. He is one of the best punchers in history with either hand.
That was devastatingly brutal, one of the most devastating left hook knockouts I've seen, Mike really looked lifeless when he went down.
Felt sorry for Jerry as well, he had to get into the ring almost immediately afterwards.
Against Ali, no less. Talk about having your mind messed with. Knowing your brother was nearly decapitated than getting in the ring with maybe the greatest heavyweight of all time. I wouldn't have envied Jerry Quarry on that night.
Wlad is the hardest puncher on that list
45 KO's in 51 wins....90% KO Ratio
but it also depends on caliber of opponet knocked not just knockout percentage.
Most (including myself) would say his left hook was definitely his biggest punch.
That's what he took Tiger, Quarry, & Rondon out with.

Can't believe I forgot about that one! Quarry was a tough top fighter back then, overshadowed by his brother. But like Jerry, may very well have been champion in another era. devastating ko! Quarry looked dead.

I agree it was his best power punch, but I always thought Fosters jab was the key to his success. Like most fighters, it set his power punches up. Unlike most fighters it seemed as if it was coming at you from a mile a way, but with uncanny speed and precision.
He had one of the best right hands I've ever seen, his left hook was a very dangerous punch as well, the Mike Quarry knockout was scary.

haye is not a hype job
have a look at his record on boxrec, he has stepped up from the start, every fight was bringing something new to the table on his 11th fight he was fighting a guy who just lost the wbo belt in carl thompson and was destroying him before he shot his bolt and decided to stop pissing it up and partying he changed his life style and every fight has been harder
he deserves respect no belittling of hayes a puff yawn!!!!
haye vs wlad is a tough decision because wlad seems to have the perfect and robotic style to really bring haye alive, haye is quick and strong and has very strong power he could knock wlad out with no problem at all but if it becomes a boxing fight then wlad should be able to grind out an ud poitns decision!!!!!!!!!!!!
You obviously never saw him at 175....where he KO'd numerous people with one punch. Go back & check some old magazines....Spinks was the conscensus choice as the sport's best puncher during the early 80's (along with Hearns)
At 175 lbs, only Foster hit harder (& yes, that includes Archie Moore)QUOTE]
I don't think there was a harder puncher outside the heavyweight division, and that includes cruiserweights. Foster could hit.
I voted Foster myself. The guy had dynamite in both fists and his ko of the iron jawwed Dick Tiger was as brutal a one punch ko as has ever been.

I think it's either Foster or Rosario.
