I dont know why, Barrera, when he engaged, was actually effective, the problem is that he didint do it enough and he knew too much exchanging would lead him on the canvas. When i say "stopped" pac, i dont mean the punches were so powerful they hurt him, im saying it stopped him from doing what he wanted to do, combination punching against pac has to be percise and consistent, Barrera as the fight wore on was neither.Fair enough.
You're right in a sense. But it helped that Barrera flurried when Pacquiao was on the ropes. Guzman'd be 2 busy respectin Pac's power to ever catch him along the ropes while Pacquiao would have no respect 4 Guzman's power to keep him from attacking
Guys like Guzman arent a problem because they are afriad of punching power, or posess so much of it themselves, they are effective because of the angles they give, and the speed they posess to quickly move in and out, fighting laterally or backwards. Anyone who can do this has a great chance against pac. Its exactly the reason why Pac and his people dont mention Guzman because Guzman isnt a huge name, and hed likely hand Pac a loss. Hes a huge threat to go out there and make pac look bad because hes awkward.
What??? I find that one very funny.

Pacman isnt god. Pacs style excels the most when someone stands in front of him and allows him to swarm you with punches, but pac doesnt like movement, counterpunching or combinations. Even in the second fight with Barrera, When Marco actually engaged with combination punching, it stopped pac. If Guzman moved, threw combinations in succession, boxed and used the ring, Pac would leave the ring frustrated and beaten, thats a garuntee, fuck knockouts.

What if Mannny Pacquiao and Joan Guzman win their next fights impressively and then sign to fight each other? What kind of fight and who wins?
Guzman is old...and is getting older. After his date with Campbell he'd be damaged goods. Sure he might win by decision but no way will he leave that fight unscathed. If he goes up against Pacquiao it would be boxing's version of Tom and Jerry...Pacman chasing, Guzman running. Pacman slinging out bombs from angles Guzman hasn't seen or even heard before and all Guzman could muster are pathetic jabs. Guzman would showboat here and there, show everyone that he isn't affected in anyway by Pacman's best shots but we all know that he feels the body shots already.
Guzman wouldn't be KOed but he'll quit on his stool. TKO Pacman...and Pacman isn't even marked.

I would give Guzman a chance of beating Pacquiao, but I wouldn't expect it. I don't think Joan can hurt Manny, and Pacs speed and aggression would be the sort Guzman has never dealt with before. That said, Manny is going to get old one of these days. I find it hard to believe that not only has Pac retained much of his power as he has gone up in weight, but he actually looks faster. I just don't think that ride can last forever.; Force me to pick and it would be Pacquiao by UD.
You're talking about a dude who's moving up yet another weightclass despite not having a KO in over 4 yrs. He's a slick boxer which gets him far but Nate Campbell is no Soto. He knows more than just charging 4ward
I say Guzman beats Campbell and probably edges out Pac as well.
