Points wise, it is more likely to get a draw with a 10-7 round than it is with a 10-8 round, simply because it dosn;t require any even rounds. A 10-8 round offsets everything.
He's a little slow.
Seriously, you're a retard

Some scored it a 10-6.
Surely its harder to get a draw with a 10-6/7 rd than a 10-8 round.
Seriously, you're not smart.
The judge that scored the fight a draw had it 10-7.

6-5-1 would make it a draw with a 10-8 rd, but judges rarely score even rounds these days.
THanks for the clarification, couldn't be bothered to find a calculator. But your right, even rounds are rare, and to be honest, a little stupid. There can always be one guy to give the round for one reason or another.
So you are right, my appologies for the math skills. But hold on a second, wouldn't an even round or two make things a draw?

Didn't think you could have even rounds.
that would be 114-113 in favor of the guy winning 7 rounds

To answer the 10-8 round question, it is very simple. One fighter wins 7 rounds, but gets knocked down, the other win fives. The result? A draw on points.

Trinidad proved himself at 160 by knocking out Joppy in 5 rounds, Joppy was a good fighter and trinidad was the only man at middleweight to stop him, Hopkins and Taylor couldn't even do it. It took a Lucian Bute 10 rounds to take him out and he's a super middleweight. Trinidads downfall after his loss to Hopkins was his inactivity and his level of competition.
agreed 100%

P.S.: To the thread starter, this is a very stupid thread. You are discrediting the biggest win of your fighters best win. So Joe has beat nobody is that what you are saying? Thats not the case at all, both Joe and Bernard have beat tons of great fighters, so dont make stupid threads.
It isn't important how a fighter does after a fight, the victory needs to be judged on how good they were going into the fight. After all, in this example Trinidad could have been mentally beaten after the loss or his future opponents could have been encouraged by what they saw. What happens afterwards is irrelvent.
Going into the fight Trinidad was 40-0 having beaten Oscar De La Hoya, Fernando Vargas and William Joppy; all very credible victories. Trinidad was also the favourite going into the fight and considered one of the top P4P boxers in the world.
I apply the same logic to Calzaghe's Lacy victory. Lacy may have looked terrible after the fight (although he still hasn't lost), but the effect of a pure beatdown broke him mentally and his shoulder injury in his next fight seriously affected him physically. Going into the fight however he was 21-0, IBF champion and the favourite, having torn through the rest of the division.
What happens after a fight shouldn't affect the legacy of the victory, only what happens before should.
wtf b-hop is a great fighter
he schooled joe and dropped him, made him look very ordinary
should have been a draw
How the hell could it have been a draw with a 10-8 round?
Seriously, I want to know.
not letting this go
