I hope he does better at HW than what you are implying. He's a colorful and cocky kid who lightens up the grey mass of heavyweight contenders.
:bs2:
Don't let anyone tell you that Haye was actually shorter than the last person he knocked out with that right.
It might make you look clueless.
Or a skinny, glass chinned journeyman CW. But we're talking about HWs here, son.
thats not the point though, i continually hear people talking about haye being too small to be a heavyweight
and regardless, size matters very little. Mike tyson is small compared to wlad, but frankly a prime tyson would murder him. And I don't even rate tyson in my top 10 heavys
I don't think Haye is too small to be a HW, but his size and strength advantage that gave him success at CW, despite having poor defense and chin, will be completely negated at HW, making him average.
Prime Tyson murders Wlad? That must be pre Douglas Tyson right? The 22 year old Tyson that was fighting journeyman, inactive out of shape ex champs and LHWs right? Murder him the way he "murdered" Tony Tucker? Lol.
Well he's small next to the guy he's been calling out for some time.

i find it laughable that people say haye is "small" for a heavyweight when the current crop of heavys are for the most part 10 to 15 pounds over weight and out of shape. Being fat doesn't make you naturally bigger

Not relevant to my point.
Exact. Same. Difference.
A shorter, less powerful boxer with a questionable chin moving up in weight to face the dominant fighter in the division.

bolded are the hw's that he might lose to but the rest I am sure he could take care of. also remember, he isn't gonna fight as a hw the way he did as a cruiser. he fought a very entertaining style in order to gain recognition but his goal at hw is gonna be more to win cuz he will have the recognition of just stepping in the ring with the hw's. I'm sure his defense will be much improved.
cmon now fat eddie chambers is done haye would defeat him
26 year old Eddie Chambers is done? Why, because he lost a close decision to a gold medalist? One who he dominated for the first 5 or 6 rounds? Chambers would be a nightmare opponent for Haye.
And yet you have him in your top ten P4P anyway.
We don't know if the chin/stamina will carry up to heavy... they could be resolved by the move upwards.
But like I say Kayjay, after watching two safety first tedious fights on the bounce from Wlad it's clear to see why people are excited about this guy.
I have Cotto in my top 10 p4p. Would I favor him to beat Pavlik? Hell no.
you just lost my respect, u clearly have no idea about boxing.
And btw haye doesn't have to fight on the inside in the heavy's.
Oh yeah and I was really looking for some teenage wigger's respect. I learned to box before your father even had sperm in his balls

I'd add Dimitrenko, Boytsov, Brock, Arreola and Gomez to that list
Haye has got to be the biggest hypejob of all time....he's gonna get brutally KO'd and humuliated at heayweight.
fights with fear in his eyes, no inside skills, relies on straight rights, has a terrible chin, crap stamina, no guts.
Fixed it for you. Remind you of anyone? You can get very far at HW with major weaknesses.

I'd add Juan Carlos Gomez to that list. He is the most underrated heavyweight in the world right now.
Haye loves fighting people that are taller than him, and the overhand right isn't his only punch. He does need a better defense because of his weak chin, but if he works at that I think he'll go all the way at h/w. And if he doesn't, at least you know his fights'll be a lot more exciting than most heavyweight fights we get these days.
You just need a different set of eyes for a HW fight. They're chess matches in which a single punch ends it. If you want to see flailing punches and not stop pitter patter, that's what the midget divisions are for.
