Just curious based on who they've beaten and how dominant they were. I mean Floyd hasn't lost, but he's picked most of his opponents as had Jones. Funny how the top P4P seem to pick their opponents strategically. Floyd beats an undefeated Englishman who was fighting at an improper weight class, and Jones Jr. fights John Ruiz, a bullshit heavy. Could you imagine Jones in with a Wladimir heavy? I think he woulda been decapitated by the first right hand bomb Wlad lands. So out of the 2? Who should be ranked higher in the history books? Are we gonna forget all about Jones great performances in the past just because he has some losses now and isn't anywhere in the upper echelon he used to be? Or should we let that little wanker be at the top spot because of his strategic wins?
Retiring undfeated is a mark of talent, but also luck, timing, and who you don't fight. Ricardo Lopez retired undefeated...but didn't face Carbajal, Gonzalez, Johnson, Arbachakov.
Ottke retired undefeated...but didn't fight Calzaghe.
Marciano retired undefeated...but he was like a decade younger than his division's best.
&? Mayweather wuz 17-0 in his 1st title bout...
you were talking about floyd retiring undefeated.
if roy didn't get screwed over during the 1st montell fight and had retired same age as floyd he would've done the same.
roy is better that floyd skill-wise and talent-wise. his resume is better as well.
You stated that Corales spent time in jail and was not mentally right for the fight, is that not trying to discrediting someone's win while making excuses for the other?
U did the same with toney... By the way toney was having weight issues most of his career, we just know about this particular one because he lost. And I agree with you on Corales situation, once you willingly step into the ring, then no more excuses (for most occasions). If you are not 100%, its your fault, you should have prepared better.
The only valid excuse is a shot fighter, way past his best. Calzaghe beating jones now by no means means he is historically the better fighter.
roy would've been 44-1 if he had retired at floyd's age......and that 1 was the joe cortez-type disqualification.
&? Mayweather wuz 17-0 in his 1st title bout...
I never used the word weight, or drained in my statement. Dunno what u talking about.

tuff question but i might have 2 ride wit Mayweather...lets c how jones finishes his career & if Mayweather comes back. Mayweather if he stays retired, he'll go out like Barry Sanders. u know damn well Barry Sanders could have gotton 20,000 yards rushing...

If I was to go into an detailed analysis into Pacquaio's Career and flaws...
You would call me a hater....even though the analysis would be fact based, and with context.
But I happen to Like Pacquaio. I think what he means to his people is something to Give credit too....
But if we was keeping this on boxing
A little suggestion, You shouldn't shoot bullets at a bullet proof window when your favorite fighter still rides In a jeep when it comes to boxing..
This has nothing to do with Pacquiao. Please stay in topic.
Is that your way of discrediting Mayweather while making excusers for Corales? Like it or not, Diego continued to fight some great fights at super featherweight and winning the title more times down there. He was not weight drained. Thats just an excuse. If he was weight drained, wouldn't you think that he would have immediately moved up in weight afterwards, similar to the way Toney did?

Rrrrrrroooooy Jones Juniiioooorrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!
*Montell II - Greatest left hook KO. ( Montell thinks he's not badly hurt...but his legs are not cooperating)
I can't tell if that's you being a smart ass or you being honest :lol1:
genaro was a great win but not floyd's best win. at least for me.
i think toney and hopkins was roy's best wins so i put it up against what i felt was floyd's best wins which were corrales and castillo (though he beat castillo twice)
i put gatti and pazienza up against each other because , though it were not great wins , those 2 fights showcased roy and floyd's skills and talents very well and their performance in those 2 fights sticks to the mind and makes you go wow.
i needed someone to matchup against baldomir because that's when floyd got his welter lineal title and i just picked virgil since that's when roy got his 175 belt (though it might've been interim)
i put ruiz and de la hoya at the same level as a win. ruiz is not that great but he was a heavy title holder. oscar is great but past prime and was a 154 title holder.
i wasn't really listing all their greatest fights just fights that i found similar or matched well with each other. i'm a roy boy so all the >'s went roy's way. :-)
Hopkins was not better then 33-0 #5 p4p with wins over Roberto Garcia, Dereck Gainer, and Angel Manfredy Diego Corrales. At the time anyway.
Pazienza over Gatti? Are you kidding me? Do you know what Pazienza's best weight class is? LIGHTWEIGHT. Where did they fight? SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT
Also Baldomir and Gatti are not Floyd's other top two wins. It's either Hatton and De La Hoya or substitute one of them with Genaro Hernendez
(I voted Roy btw. He has a better resume)
vinny pazienza was a lightweight?
i didn't know that. i should start following boxing.
thanks.
hopkins > corrales
toney > castillo
pazienza > gatti
hill > baldomir
what's a better win a belt against a not that great heavyweight champion or a great past prime super welterweight champion?

In Corrales defense, wasn't he just released from jail or something and his mind wasn't straight at all? :?!:
