Holt smoked Torres with that right hand

Brutal knockout, but Holt's dome gets the assist on that one. I can't remember the last time I have seen something like that. Time for #3.

How bad was the headbutt? Take into account, Holt's head connects with Torres CHIN and it causes a CUT above Holt's right eye. That alone tells you he hit Torres chin with his head as if it was a punch to cause a cut on his own head, and then buckle Torres legs from it. Then shit went downhill while Torres tried to steady himself on the ropes. Technically, with Torres only being held up by the ropes the action should have been broken up, but it all happened very quickly. That head-butt was brutal... and left Torres defenseless with his arm intertwined with the rope. The fucker really did get lucky but you have to give him credit for capitilizing on the situation.

I watched the video again and that head but was SOOOO vicious. It literally stumbled Torres all the way to the ropes.

Yeah he will. Torres was the most dangerous puncher @ 140 and Holt just dismantled him. Nobody @ 140 can beat him, nobody. The only person who MIGHT make things interesting is Bradley. People clown on Holt because he has a suspect chin, but that's all it is....suspect. He bounced RIGHT back up as soon as he got dropped, nothing wrong with that. The guys with the TRULY bad chins don't get up...like Torres. LOL Or Holt against the great Thomas Davis.

The first fight is history.... also, Holt ran like a bitch in that fight. You are either a fan of Holt because you are from NJ, or you just jumped on the bandwagon. Anyway, your biased is evident. I am neither of those two. But Holt deserved a win the first time. I made a thread about it and proved my point. If he did alot of running I wonder how he KOed Torres in the 6th round and today he KOed him in the 1st round headbutt or not headbutt. You rarely see fighters from America fighting Latin America in there backyard and Columbian offical didnt handle the fight pretty well. The cans and bottle in the ring during the fight as well as after it. That is a disgrace in boxing and Karma is a bitch. Holt deserved to win the first time. and what is more disgrace is that he didnt get an immediate rematch but he have to fight for it. Holt won over Torres and this is a history people who are going to remember for some time that first fight nobody talked alot about it. Yeah, and so is your hate. Holt got buttd too, peple forget that. The last thing holt wants to do is butt a guy after heing down twice. You don't need anymore head trauma to add to being stunned. Actually Holt didnt recieve a head butt! Holt's HEAD landed on Torres' JAW.... Did you even see it? Torres' head whipped back from the butt. Nobody has claimed that it was on purpose, but the headbutt was the catalyst to the KO. Plain and basic common sense.

May I just add obviously I have no criticism for Holt. He done what he had too. He deserves an awful lot of credit for going to war after being knocked down twice.

Hope Torres is OK, though. :boxing: Exactly what I thought last night, woke up at 4:15am (UK Time) and watched the fight and was an amazing one minute of action and was over so early that i flicked over and caught the final fight of UFC 86 and that nearly put me back to sleep, although i'm not a fan of mma. Like Ive mentioned before, it is not Holt's fault and I dont blame him for taking the golden opportunity that was gifted to him... but one has to acknowledge that the opportunity to punch Torres would have not been there if the head-butt did not occur. You and I both know what was happening in that fight prior to the headbutt. I will also mention that Torres was quite irresponsible, he was throwing bombs off balance opening himself up for a counter, but Im sure he didnt expect a counter head-butt. Torres was defenselss after the head-butt, Holt was lucky.

I think ive watched the fight about 20 times now and I will say that the more I see it the more I feel that Holt got lucky. Although Holt took advantage of an oportunity, he would have never had the chance to land that punch if it werent for the head-butt. Anyone who fails to see that is a biased bat. With Torres hanging from the ropes like that, does anyone think that the ref should have stepped and counted it as a KD? He was held up by the ropes and techinically that qualifies as a KD, matter a fact his left arm was also intertwined with the ropes... he was defensless. let's admit it, the 140 lb division has been pretty shit for a while now. so many very average fights...thats because all the guns moved up to 147.

as a result of the headbutt...torres' left arm/hand got stuck in the rope and he fell back..and its kinda funny with the slow motion as you can see him trying to get it out...in time to defend his face..then bang..too late...lights out. Holt had a free shot from side on at a person with no defense...so bring on a rematch.. ps..they are both avg fighters in my eyes anyway. they are good but I think the other title holders will beat them especially Hatton even though some people lost hope, His bodypunch sure will slow both fighters down to a KO
