Nobody said he would do it, people said he CAN do it. There are tons of threads in which people explain why Floyd can win. Few, if any, said they would BET on it happening. I would not be at all surprised if Floyd potshotted his way to a victory. Look what Spinks was able to do to Taylor, making it a fight and never really taking a solid blow. That fight set the precedent and convinced me that Mayweather COULD beat every middleweight and should even be favored against anybody but the top 2 or 3. Mayweather > Spinks in every way. Taylor pretty much outboxed Pavlik in the rematch when he let his hands go. Anybody could see that. Now consider this: Pavlik telegraphs almost every punch and is slower than Taylor. The only reason Pavlik is champion at all is because he can take a good punch and hits hard. He's really one of the most limited, if not the most limited, guy on the pound for pound list. To suggest Mayweather couldn't hit and run against him for 12 rounds is absurd. But I agree that if Pavlik lands flush, it's over. Pavlik is just too big. In conclusion: I wouldn't BET on Mayweather, but he could definitely win, not just because anything can happen in boxing but because he is that good and Pavlik is that limited.

What can you say, the other man is nearly 6'3" tall while the other is 5'8", the other one also weighs 170 lbs on fight night while the other weighs under 150... It would be incredible if Mayweather were able to pull that one off but he is smart enough not to try his luck. this is maybe the 15th poll on this. For the record, I think Floyd's defense is too good for him to get KO'd, but he is too much of a pussy to make it a fight and he would lose a UD by a huge margin, in what would be one of the most non-entertaining fights ever. I'd pay alot to see it though.
