So I guess since Dawson is at 175 they could end up fighting.
I think Tarver however would shock people by stopping Dawson lol. I mean he puts punches together really well.........and what happens if a big left hand lands and he gets Dawson in trouble? it's bad news.
Good match up though, I'd love to see it.

tough fight to call i like both fighters TBH
Tarver goes into his shell a lot so im not sure if his inactivity might win a Dawson a decision or wether Tarver could actually get Dawson outta there with his power
Tarver may be old and past his prime, but I still think he could KO Dawson....Tarver looked decent against Woods so he still has some gas left in the tank....Dawson as we all know is very chinny, he gets hurt a lot, he also has mediocre defense....Dawson was hurt bad and almost KO'd by Johnson, who isn't a big puncher at all...Tarver is arguably the hardest puncher at 175, he will catch Dawson and hurt him bad, Dawson's chin will not hold up against a skilled big puncher like Tarver.
Tarver by KO
Good post, was gonna say pretty much the same thing
Wladowns has some good points to be fair. Not sure Johnsons as soft as you think but Tarver hits hard and would trouble Dawson. Tarver did pretty much call out Dawson if I remember rightly, in the post fight press conference. One of them, pretty sure Tarver, turned around and said to the other lets get it on. Lame if he's pricing himself out, I don't think he'll get Calzaghe if he's so awkward, unlikely as it already is.
I get a feeling this could be a crap fight. Dawson ran a lot from Johnson, I think he would more from Tarver knowing his power, and Tarver doesn't quite have the full evil killer instincts to finish it off. Could quite easily see it being a draw based on they're previous fights.
Johnson isn't a big puncher....Tarver is a way harder puncher, he is arguably the hardest puncher at 175.
No way in hell Dawson can take Tarver's best shots...Dawson better learn to improve his mediocre defense or he's gonna get knocked the fuck out soon.
There's no argument.
Nobody at 175 hits as hard as Tarver.

if dawson took johnson's biggest punches, im sure he can stand up to tarver's.
I just don't see how you can come to that conclusion.
Tarver is a MUCH, MUCH, more devastating puncher with faster hands.

Dawson will beat him to the punch all night and Tarver doesn't have the ability at this age to press him. Tarver has a punchers chance, but I can't see him outclassing Dawson if the fight goes the distance.
I've always said Tarver ain't hungry unless he's fightin RJ, and I still believe it. That's the only opponent he seemed to be up for. Yeah he dominated Woods to regain a belt but Woods looked like he didn't even give a shit. I don't really like Dawson either but he'd win this one. Tarver's a 1 fight wonder.
Where did you hear this??....Tarver was calling out Dawson after he beat Woods and he called Dawson "a wounded duck".
Everyone in boxing knows that Showtime, Gary Shaw, and Dawson have been trying to get this fight made for over a year. Tarver keeps pricing himself out of it hoping for a bigger fight that isn't happening for him. I've read this on Maxboxing, ESPN, and other places. Tarver may have called Dawson a name but he never called him out. Dawson will make him look his age unlike the last stooge he fought.
The only reason this fight hasn't happened already is because Tarver won't sign for it. I don't think he wants any of Dawson.
