JCC vs Meldrick Taylor
-Meldrick was NEVER the same after that fight even tho he deserved the victory.
Diego Chico Corrales vs Jose Luis Castillo
-A war that took alot out of bother fighters esp Chico.. It really drained him..
I don't want to mention Lacy vs Calz yet because I'm giving him one more fight to see if he still has it. He was injured in the one of his last 2.. and he was fighting ring rust in December with Manfredo..
Which other ones!?
anyone?
no one here will know this fight..
Willie DeWitt vs "Smokin" Bert Cooper
up and comer white hope olympic medalist.
could have been a Tommy Morrison fighter
Bert Cooper had other ideas..
And one more comes to mind! a fight I saw in Nanaimo!
Some bald headed goof who was the european "bareknuckle" champion with 300 bullshit fights! Bert ko's his ass in 30 seconds!!
Loved it!!
guy was on David Letterman saying hes going to kick ass in the us!! LMAO!!
Joe Savage!! (looked it up!)
Mayweather vs Hatton. Exposed the Fatton big time. Should have stayed in England and retired undefeated.
Hatton hasn't even lost again yet since then so that's a really lame example.
Hopkins destroyed Trinidad. He had to retire after that loss and when he came back, he had one good performance against Mayo before he got whomepd again and retired again. Then he came back and got whomped by Roy. And Jirov was never the same beast after the Toney fight.
this may be alittle to early to say but taylor after his fight with pavlik. even though the second fight was close as heel i just cant see taylor getting back to where he was
Jimmy Garcia vs Gabriel Ruelas, this was a sad moment and I felt for Ruelas because he was never going to be the same person nevermind a fighter, Every one who saw this fight will always understand early stopages.
I fucken hated Barrera for a little while after the Jones Jr. fight not because he lost but he changed his style to be more of a boxer. I respect him and he is smart and you're right on some things but i just didnt' like that he changed his style.
The amazing thing about Barrera when he boxed is that it was still extremely exciting, at least to me.
The first 6 rounds of Barrera-Morales II were ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE in my opinion. Just stellar.
Campas vs Trinidad, I cant believe how bad he killed him, that fight ruined me!:tapedshut
lol, even though Campas lost its a fight that i ilke to watch every now and then, Campas was brave as fuck and still has never been off his feet. I mean if Trinidad couldn't get him off his feet with those clean shots then no one ever will.
And Campas was nowhere near ruined, but after that he would stop a one sided fight that he was a part of but he could still take a lot of punishment just look at his fight against Duddy, that fight was insane.
douglas vs tyson
I can't believe the most obvious answer took so long to come out.
I didn't even think of it, but my god, has there ever been a fight when a fighter was so great before and so not after?
Pipino Cuevas after he lost his title to Tommy Hearns. Cuevas had been unbeaten for five years until Hearns took him apart. He was worthless after that.
Donald Curry was considered by many the P4P best, but was never really the same again after being upset by Lloyd Honeyghan.
Alfonso Zamora was the WBA bantam champ, 29-0 with 29 KO's when he battled the WBC bantamweight champion Carlos Zarate. Zamora was destroyed and his record 4-4 with all loses by KO after that. Great fight if you can ever find it.
I think the Jones loss made Barrera reconsider how he SHOULD fight. He still mixed it up at times (Morales fights), but was able to transition into a good boxer when he needed to.
That shit is what made Barrera great IMO. He is probably the most versatile fighter I have ever seen.
I fucken hated Barrera for a little while after the Jones Jr. fight not because he lost but he changed his style to be more of a boxer. I respect him and he is smart and you're right on some things but i just didnt' like that he changed his style.
