Kimbo Slice is a BUM!!!!

The funny thing about the Kimbo fight was that the referee was quite happy to watch Thompson get smashed to bits in the second round until he grabbed a hold of Kimbo and took him down and beat him up. In the third it looked like it was decided that it would be more prudent to deny Kimbo the highlight reel knockout that was initially planned to secure the stoppage. In other words even after taking five or six unanswered shots Thompson was dangerous enough to Kimbo for them to rush into the stoppage. This was designed to be a Kimbo win, they're building up a record for him. And that's sort of fine, most new professionals have a period of fighting lesser competition to build up a reputation and get some confidence and experience, so in theory I have no problem with it. Where I have a problem is when one of these "scrub" fights is the main event and they still have to cheat like fuck to make sure the house fighter wins. Notice in the first how quickly they were stood up when Thompson had Kimbo on the ground? By the way Wlad Owns is correct, Vitali retired Lewis after their fight. So by his own logic Vitali was retired by Hasim Rahman. Four times. And they didn't even fight! :owned: lolll:owned:

I don't think we can understate the fact that the guy Kimbo fought got knocked out by Butterbean in like 30 seconds. I forgot about that! Thompson couldn't even beat butterbean.. In Thompson's defense.. That was another premature stoppage. In light of the results of that fight, team Slice definitely didn't expect the fight to draw out as long as it did.

The man had a cauliflower ear that looked like a recent injury. If you burst that it's going to bleed like shit but it's not going to cause any serious damage. If a rugby player burst a cauli ear he'd have it wrapped up and be back on for the second half, it was fine. Fact is that Thompson was hand picked to be a "step up in class" on paper from two forty year old men and a string of homelss drunks. He was supposed to look like a real fighter but still get knocked out in short order, and it took Mr Slice to the third round with a nudge and a wink from the Ref. I'm telling you we need to make Kimbo vs Butterbean and we need to make it now. Eric needs the cash. If you bring anyone with MMA experience they're better then Kimbo on paper because Kimbo just recently started MMA but he still beats them

Kimbo Slice just needs to go back to beating up people who cant fight at all out on the streets. i don't know about guys that can't fight. some of the guys kimbo fought in the youtube tapes looked like guys that could fight just not technical fighting. big difference fighting as a sport and fighting on the streets.

I think the stoppage was good, at first I thought they stopped it cause he was getting beat up..but I soon after realized the mans ear had possibly ruptured. He was out on his feet anyway and would have been KOed. Props to Kimbo for having a semi decent ground game for a noob though. I hope they stop sheltering him..they all probably thought Thompson would just get walked right through like the bum he is. the stoppage was early but not without reason. that doesn't mean the referee wasn't biased or had an agenda. i wouldn't call it a robbery but imo the referee was trying to help kimbo. the fight of the night was the girls. for some reason girl fights are quite entertaining for me. what they lack in skill they make up for in the fact that they fight like they're not scared to lose. too many fights are boring because fighters are trying not to get hurt or lose. the girls seems like they are always trying to win. besides...... it doesn't look weird or awkward for me to see girls fighting from the guard...... :-)

Ive always known that. Street fights with random bums doesn't mean you are good.

Terrible stoppage,he was almost out in the 2nd round,imagine he fought a heavyweight boxer? he'd probably do better against a boxer in a mma octagon. in a boxing ring he'd get shut out 120-108 by a solid technical boxer. as far as the stoppage......richard steele looked different to me last night. ha ha ha have you ever seen a referee give someone so many chances like he did kimbo in that fight? everytime kimbo was on the ground he tried to stand them back up as soon as possible. when kimbo was doing nothing on the ground and pinned down getting hit and not even fighting back he didn't stop the fight but as soon as kimbo landed 3-4 punches he stops it. that's what happens when gary shaw's nephew is hired as the referee for kimbo's fights!!!

Lmao he was getting an ass whopping. What a shitty stoppage. All teh stoppages were shitty tonight. well......technically he's a guy off the streets who was fighting in backyards. so yeah he is technically a bum.

Hatton career is over. This last fight Cleary shown he is finished. I swear Hatton should have stayed in England and retired undefeated his legacy is in shatters. Floyd can drop to 140 and still drop Hatton. Floyd isn’t a natural welterweight you know. Hatton won 11 of the 12 rounds over a solid Lazcano in front of 55,000+ people. If that "cleary" shown he's finished then your a complete moron that know nothing about boxing. Floyd is a natural WW now regardless of where he started. Since Hatton/Floyd II is going to happen next year, Floyd should have no problem fighting at 140 which is clearly Hattons best fighting weight.

You guys act surprised that Kimbo is overrated. He has no boxing or martial arts experience. He gained his reputation by knocking out some bums in a few bare knuckle fighting contests. Inspite of his desire to learn and being a natural fighter, the reality is that he started too late in life and will never become an elite MMA fighter. His promotors will have to be very careful and limit him to fights against fighters of low skill level. Is it possible to find professional fighters that are of a lower caliber of fighting skill than Thompson? I seriously doubt it. Kimbo will never step foot in the UFC.

Kimbo came from being homeless, to fighting $1000 fights in back yards, to making over six figures in this fight. He may not be an elite level fighter, but what a success story. there we go, this is the proper perspective.

I didn't say he was really successful by mma standards. I said he has overachieved, there is a difference. the fact of the matter is, the top 20 UFC heavyweights could take care of Kimbo easily. Elite XC is far behind in talent in the MMA world. UFC and PRIDE are the only ones that should be taken seriously. The only fighter they have that should be taken seriously is Antonio Silva who is a beast. the rest don't compare to the top talent in mma cuz if they did, they would be in UFC where they would make more money. you mean DREAM. Pride was bought and dismantled.

Exactly, they don't have anyone to represent them so whatever they make is what their final paycheque is, whether its 30k or 500k,

c'mon man, give the guy some credit. he doesn't proclaim himself as one of the greatest fighters in the world. he has even said on many occasions that he is far from being a great technical mma fighter but that he is gonna work hard to be great. he is 34 years old and he has just started in mma. I never thought he was gonna do much in mma but he has still really overachieved so far. he was just a regular street fighter with no martial arts skills or boxing skills before he got into Elite XC. The guy he fought yesterday is an actual mma fighter who has trained that way for a lot of his life. and I think kimbo handled himself pretty well for a guy who just got into this sport. He is just fighting now to make some money and feed his family. I find his story very intriguing and I'm gonna watch all his fights. I just think Kimbo is nothing. I give mma fighters what is due when i see one who is great. I dont ever down talk anyone who i think is an amazing fighter. I just think he will be fighting only that competition. Imo that guy in the opening fight coudl beat him
