I think the best way to beat him is to go for the knock out in the first few rounds. Just lay it all on the table and try to catch him hard. He got stunned early in the Hatton fight and usually loses the first few rounds. I know this is a big risk to take, but I think the beginning of the fight is the best time to get him out of there. The more rounds that go by, the more he will adjust to your style.
you talking about when he tripped over hattons foot and a punch didn't even land as stunned? or just stunned from the pressure. anyway my advice would be a lowblow combination to the genitals. make sure to apologize afterward so it looks unintentional. that should slow him down and make him ripe for the knockout.
I don't understand why everyone always says you need to use pressure to beat Floyd. Minus the first Castillo fight, Floyd has looked pretty good against every aggressive come-forward fighter he has faced. Lets face it - Floyd can really fight off the back foot.
I think to have a chance at beating Floyd, you need 4 things: Speed, a good jab, good punch to the body, and you have be able to make Floyd come forward. The few times I've seen Floyd get hit cleanly, it was either from a guy with a good jab (Oscar) or when he was trying to walk his man down (Zab). But since you're not gonna beat Floyd with a jab alone, your best bet is to try to slow him down for the later rounds. I would have my fighter work off of the jab, and focus on the body on the way inside. And when he does get on the inside, I would HOLD Floyd just like Hatton did (I think the dumbest thing you could do is try to fight Floyd anywhere near the pocket). The combination of having Floyd chase the other fighter all night, the body shots and clinching could slow him down just enough to make a difference in the later rounds.
Cotto has all those things bolded...
I personally would choose Cotto as my fighter to train and hire steward as a co-trainer to beat Floyd...
you gotta take risks. hatton did it and failed he wasnt allowed to get inside. i cant see anyone outboxing floyd. i think if you pressure him too much like hatton it will bring the best out of him and hel jus whoop your ass. you gotta make him fight dirty pretty boy dont like that. land a cotto low blow, wind him up and get him angry. he is too chilled out. you gotta make him lose his composure make him fight dont chase him round the ring. ALWAYS watch his right jab. work at it dont lose your cool. be prepared and in great shape and expect the hardest, toughest fight of your life. Keep your head, stick to your gameplan.
I would make sure my boxers knows he need to limit what PBF is landing. If you go in there thinking he is a bitch who can not hurt you, I think your in for a long night. But if you can make him actually miss maybe throw a little more then he wants counter him a little. If you let him just land on you he will pick you apart maybe knock you down or out if he lands the right stuff. Maybe then you can pull out a decision because I really dont see PBF getting kayoed unless he gets careless or old.
Does Floyd throw alot of jabs? Have you seen him fight very much?
Every Mayweather fight I have seen the last 6 years all he ever does is back up and throw 1 jab at a time as the other guy is trying to chase him down on his way to a point victory just because he has like a 14 to 1 connect advantage each round. Dude dont come to throw down. Even his knockout of hatton was more of a sidestep hard jab than a hook. He dont like being hit. Just a few clean power shots would put him down 4 the count. But you aint landing clean on him unless you get him to come forward and trade instead of running like a bitch. Only way to get him to come forward is to piss him off enough to make him wanna knock you out cuz you fight dirty. Similar to the way tyson made guys wanna trade with him nomatter how suicidal it was

This is the most sensible post i have ever seen on a potential way to fight Mayweather, I dont see how people would think Pressuring is the way to do it. Everybody keep talking about the castillo fight but am not so sure Castillo would have trouble Mayweather that much if he wasnt carrying an injury.
Turn my fighter into a miniature version of mike tyson. Bobbing and weaving and on a hell bent trance to knock him out. Im sure a mike tyson-esque haymaker to the chin as the ref is calling for break would piss him off enough to actually come forward and fight instead of running like a bitch and throwing nothing but jabs for 12 rds.

Have you and your fighter sacrifice a small goat in honor of Tye Fields. Tye Fields loves his sacrificial lambs and would then breathe on your fighter causing him to TKO Mayweather in Round 1.
But Hatton was tiring by round 8.
yep..... Hatton was done by round 8..... he still had enough to keep his body going through the motions..... but there was no potential damage left in him.
that motherfucker was running on empty.
to work the jab.and to faint alot.especially when floyd has his back foot on his tip toes with his head stuck out to try and lure in the opponent into a counter right hand over the top.to jab jab and jab.once in a while if you getem against the ropes to hit him everwhere.
wind him up by kissing his earlobe and whispering how you gonna fuck his bitch and take his money every time you get in a clinch with him LOL
That might work. Floyd is very protective of 50 Cent...........
...What would be your game plan to beating him?
Pull my fighter out with an "Illness" or "Injury" and then get my boy to fight him again in 5/6 years time lol, hopefully He would of lost most of that quickness and reflexes by then and my fighter could tire him and tko him...very unlikely tho.
the punching in the bollocks plan sounded like A winner too!
