if judges base fights on just punches thrown and landed like tonight, its impossible for him to lose a decision, do yall see anyway he can? He got beat up tonight, can possibly get knocked out, but with incompitent judging i dont see him ever losing a decision because of his workrate, do yall agree? Ill give him props for coming to America and hanging with one of the best ever, this isnt a hating thread. Im not trying to talk about tonights fight, im just saying based on that is there anyway he can lose a decision.
they didnt seem effective tonight for anything but the judges score bhop looked the same after then before (seriously) those fucking slaps really pissed me off
Hopkin was on his way to being knocked out, he was tired and swinging wildly, Joe had him, but he took a knee faking a low blow to recover
I think it's not comparable, totally different strategy. Mayweather throws about 20-30 punches a round, but he almost always connects and barely ever gets hit. Joe on the other hand averages 100 punches a round and lands less than half of them. I'm a huge fan of Mayweather but I think Joe's strategy is perfect for beating Mayweather.
mayweather would throw more punches, when hopkins countered in succession with combinations to joes wide swings, he landed big, mayweather would do this every single time, you cant come wide against that guy. hopkins was outworked likely because of his age, but mayweather would turn it on, as he usually does, especially if hes behind.
stop making excuses for Gayweather
fact is, Floyd throws and throws but his punches rarely hurt unless a fighter runs into them like Hatton did (due to Cortez's constant breaking up)
Joe's punches are effective, Mayweather's are pitter patters.

Joe was nowhere near being knocked out at any time in that fight.
As to whether he could lose a decision, of course he can. Imagine he fought someone who stifled his game like Hopkins did, but also threw plenty of punches back.
A more active Hopkins would have won that fight IMO. He lost because if he did anything in the fight, he stopped Joe from boxing his own way, but that was all he did, after the opening rounds.

No you can't. Floyd pot shots at times. But he isn't anything like Cal. Joe throws just to throw. Floyd throws with intent. And is by far more accurate. That's probably the worst comparison to throw out there.

you could say the same about Mayweather's pitter patter crap

Joe got beat up? You must mean he got mugged, because he outpunched Hops in almost every round.
If beat up means one mark on his nose from that (admitidely fantastic) punch, then he got beat up, but he looked ok apart from that in the post fight interviews

Yeah. I figure that someone will beat him if they win more rounds than he does. Hopkins didnt.
Hops won in my eyes.....
116-111...was ridicolous.
What was really rediculous was that first retarded judge's score.
Hopkins lost, anyway you slice it, nice first three rounds, but unfortunately it was a 12 round fight.

I would give you that, but considering his last fight he knocked Ricky Hatton into next year, I would have to say its not the same, and Floyd doesnt have the workrate Joe has,.
please, every needless break-up by Cortez set Hatton up for the big shots. He would never have landed the shots (or the elbows) he did without Cortez
And it is the same, the only difference being that Calzaghe's punches are effective

I think if someone lands a good percentage of power punches say 50% of lighter stuff they will take rounds, but Judges aren't going to buy the 'one well excuted punch wins if the other guy is gong forward and hitting you with 20 light shots'
