Is it just me or have the heavyweights turned in to a buch of fat asses . I mean you have to look at prospect olander soils , sam peter, david tua, hasihm rahman, ruslan chagev, alexander povetkin, sultan ibragimov. I mean talk about the 80's heavyweights be fat asses but the only fat contenders in the eighties were tony tubbs and tim witherspoon. Where as now everyone outside of wlad klitschko is carrying extra weight.

Of those only Odlanier Solis is a fatass, so why are you making things up to try to make an argument?
American guys with athletic talent and good size rarely go into boxing these days. I guess thats why so many American contenders are fatties. But Americans are pretty fat as a people, so... :dunno:
As for the Europeans... they have no excuse.
Thats correct. Sultan, Byrd, Boytsov, Chagaev, Mollo, and Chambers are all natural cruiserweights.
Some of the best "heavyweight" fights of all time involved people who would be cruiserweights now. Ali vs. Liston for example - Ali was below 200 in the mid-sixties. Marciano was below 200 for his whole career!
So most of Wlad's best wins are against natural cruiserweights.

There are some fit ones - Wlad, Boytsov, Dimitrenko, Thompson, Ruiz, Virchis for example.
But yes, it is ridiculous how many of the others are overweight. There were always some older fat heavyweights like Tony Galento. But it is sickening to now see young guys like L'Heureux, Koval, and Binkowski with big beer guts.
Thats not a very long list of in shape heavyweights. i never understood why the 80's heavies were labelled as fat when the only fat guys were tubbs, witherspoon and foreman.

yep thats why the divison lows loads of fat guys hugging each other after 4 rounds lol.
I saw Solis recently my god has he gotten fat, I remember watching him i nthe Am world championships against david Haye He looked trip then.
I think the reason alot of them are fat is because there aren't being forced too be slim. There is not definative top man at heavyweight so no one feels pressure to get into the best shape as they don't feel the need to do so to compete as all the other are also fat. It doesn't help that there is no upper limit. I hope Haye brings a much needed kick up the ass that the HW division so desperately needs right now.
yea I don't even watch HW bouts they suck so much these days.
The 80's had a lot of heavy weights that prided themselves ins staying in shape (bruno, holyfield, tyson..to name a few)
If we pitted the 80's up against the current lineup up bums It would be a joke. It's sad that a 40+ year old heavyweight (holyfield) who's been hit in the head more times than a baseball is still competing with a younger generation.
