All I know is Evander is #1 and Carlos De Leon is somewhere up there but I am stumped on who the greatest cruiserweights can be. Can anyone give me their picks for top 10?
There's no way Haye would have beaten Gomez at cruiserweight. Gomez was/is just far too good a boxer. I know I'm biased, but even so. Like I said the other day, it's great Haye has sparked an interest in the heavyweight division, but he's not an exceptional boxer. He's just very gifted in terms of speed and power. Gomez would have been a handful even for Holyfield.
The reason i put Haye above Gomez was because he was the undisputed champ where as Gomez only held the WBC belt i wasn't really thinking about them in a head to head match up.
I've seen Juan Carlos Gomez fight once or twice but he didn't really leave enough impression on me to remember how he boxes. what fights of his do you recommend for me to watch to see what he is all about it.
There's not many of his fights on youtube etc so you might have to look hard to see some of his earlier fights.
Marcelo Fabian Dominguez II
Jorge Fernando Castro
David Defiagbon
Samil Sam
His recent performances although decent, are not his best showings by any means. He's not anywhere near 100%.
Because I genuinely believe Gomez was that good. David Haye has won almost every fight by knockout and is by no means a great operator in terms of boxing talent. Juan carlos Gomez, the Diaz loss aside, has never been stopped or knocked down as a professional. I cannot see for the life of me how Haye could have outboxed Juan Carlos Gomez.

lol wow, I was surprised to see this tread bumped.
Its understandable if you think Gomez would give haye a hard fight or even beat him but how could you say "no way haye would have beaten Gomez" as if Haye wasn't a beast at cruiserweight. I would pick Holyfield to beat Haye at cruiser but even there I would not use the words "no way would Haye beat Holyfield" because Haye would have given anyone a really tough fight and he could come out the victor against any cruiserweights on that list.
