I mean yeah Williams looked shotty but Quintana has shown me nothing but good stuff aside from the Cotto fight. Lets not forget Cotto broke down a game Zab Judah who nobody should deny is very good when focised and he was against Cotto. The same Judah that KDed Floyd (missed call by the ref) and unravelled late as usual. The same Judah that was doing great against Cotto but I think the low blows may have defalted him mentally.....anyway Cotto destroyed this Quintana, beat the piss out of Judah and amazingly some what out boxed a great boxer in Mosley.....I think Cotto is more than Floyd can handle. Is Cotto that good?
Seeing as how Floyd will likely be 32 with one fight in the past year and a half when they finally face and Miguel will probably be even better by then, I like Cotto's chances.
Great point....
I'm shocked there was zero hate and arguing in this thread......Way to go ladies!:boxing:
only guy to beat cotto, like most selections indicate, is floyd.
anyone else who THINKS they can beat cotto, is doing only that, thinking.
floyd / cotto looks closer and closer everyday.
I might be overdoing it but I think when Floyd faces Cotto in 20 years we can look back on that bout and realize these were two all time great fighters that faced off in an ultra bout.
I think, without a doubt, this fight proved just how great Cotto is. There is no exaggeration in saying Cotto absolutely destroyed or brutilized Quintana. He did just that within 5 rds. Quintana said it out of his own mouth, I'm done, I can't do anymore, I'm dead. That's a huge statement in saying just how good Cotto is to have done that to someone like Quintana who performed as well as he did against Williams to dethrone him. Quintana has some great tools, but just maybe like Max said, he can't compete with the big big dawgs, and that maybe Williams never was a big dawg and was just made out to be because he beat Margarito who everyone overhyped. A lot of pieces fell together after this fight.

Cotto is a special fighter. I have thought so ever since I watched him dismantle Juuko on the Barrera/Morales undercard. I thought and still think that Cotto has the goods to be a great fighter.
I hope that Miguel and Floyd can prove who is better in the ring in the near future here.
i dont care who or how anyone can/will beat cotto, i will always love to watch him fight, his determintation and will are admirable traits. if there is a way for cotto to win a fight he is going to find it everytime.
Well said Hitman, Cotto is the antithesis of floyd. offense/defense, humble/arrogant, fights anybody/handpicker,
floyd is a major talent but he will lose to Cotto. you can tell by the way floyd talks he really does not want to mess with Cotto.
just look at the video of Merchant questioning him about Cotto, floyd will not touch that. nor will he touch that contract with Cotto's name on it. this says it all. talent with a lack of confidence can't beat Cotto.

The man aside from Floyd
I think he has the best chance right now,but i could see Floyd on the top of his game displaying why he's #1,i really want this fight, forget DLH-Floyd II,i want Floyd vs Cotto
mayweather and cotto r at the top of the division.. the only person i see beating mayweather is cotto, and the only person i see beating cotto is mayweather.. they need to fight, if they do i have mayweather winning by ud/sd
Cotto is superb.
If him and Mayweather were to ever clash it would be an amazing fight first of all, but you would have to favor Mayweather by a bit.
Id make the odds -160 to +200 in favor of Mayweather.
But its a fight Cotto could DEFINETLY win and he poses a very realistic threat to Mayweather. And he is the only one that does so...
