Well, look on the bright side, Williams fans. He lost a pretty close fight against a determined Quintana who fought a good/great fight. If any "excuses" can be made, I suppose you can keep Williams' lay-off in mind as he did look a bit rusty, I just think he could have done better than he did. Williams will still be a threat in the devision, but I believe this fight shows that you should never overrate a fighter untill he has proven himself.
Both things are true.
Ok lets hear them...
I thought Williams was a huge threat to the Welters, because he throws 100 punches a round and has a solid chin, that went down the drain ( not the chin )
I think the Margarito fight made him look better then he really is because people thought Tony was the threat, good fight,i think Williams was more active, but Quintana landed the much better punches
But what does this tell us about Cotto ? i was sold on Quintana back in the day from his fight with Julio, and the way Cotto man handled him i thought it was very impressive, but after tonight, its even more impressive,i wish we got Cotto-Mayweather instead of Mayweather-DLH II

164 pounds tonight, 162 vs Margarito, 160 the fight before that. I think this will be his last fight at WW. He should have a pretty good chance at 154, though.
I been saying it for a while,, williams style is real slooppy not fluid at all,, that y u gotta respect floyd he is sitting back n letting all the people u see as challengers beat them self so he cud bow out
truth be told, Williams didnt throw his usual 100 punches a round this fight. dunno why. that was his number 1 weapon.
but I never liked his style anyway to be honest. I likel Quintana better anyway
I think that was all because of Quintana. He was not a stationary target and made Williams' advantages become disadvantages. He fought a brilliant fight imo. He threw the other guy off his game plan and looked good himself as well.

i knew this guy was over rated, i said it time and time again, he will be good in future, but he was overhyped. he has a good chin i will give him that but he has nothing else to be with the top boys, this tells me that the margarito fight was a fluke(or bad scoreing, ill fine my score card i had it very close).
