I agree. He is far from Mayorga when it comes to skills.
Far better. But Mayorga seems to have alot more athleticism and speed.
he is underated techincally...but he is still shit. He is a clubber man.
No doubt he is a clubber... and I wouldnt want him to change that. That is what makes him what he is.
Their technique is about equal.
But I think you are the guy who told me that Miranda has some good "boxing skills".
Miranda has a great jab and uses it to set up his right hand. He has learned how to cut off the ring real nicely too. He also counters pretty nicely.
His defense has gotten better, but still not too good.
He is far from the Mayorga brawler that some make him out to be.
On the judges cards (other than the BS that happened in Germany) he has never been down. Even against Pavlik he was up going into round 6 (although I didnt have it that way).
So yea, the guy is very under rated in the skill department.
You are off your rockers!
Soliman and Miranda are nothing alike!

Fuck man...it's semantics.
He swarms..brawls. Whatever you want to call it.
He gets hit alot, which is why his head swells like fucking popcorn after every fight.
And yeah, i'm right. You're wrong.
swarming is putting pressure most of the time.....brawling is trading in close...completely different......
winky swarms you and forces you to fight back, picks your shots off with gloves and arms and then counters you with jabs and lefts.......even some hooks and uppers if he lets you unload punches in close......tahts not brawling....
I think I already saw this fight. It's called Winky Wright vs Sam Soliman.
Seriously, that's what it would be, but Miranda stronger. And Soliman probably has more "boxing" skill then Miranda does so...

....well your wrong bro. That's all i'm going to say. He is not a safety first fighter. Cautious, but not safety first. He is willing to exchange and does. And gets the better of his opponents usually.
You might want to watch a couple of his fights again, because I think you are wrong about this.
There is no way that a brawler can be lauded for having such great defense, and there is no way punchstats (even though you smite their very existence) can be so low for all of his opponents.
In a brawling style fight, the fighter who throws more punches usually wins, and Winky does not usually throw more punches. You could make the argument that power can overcome low punch output, but Winky being deemed a power puncher? Get out.

I saw him brawl a bit in the Taylor fight, but I haven't seen him fighting a brawling fight since Vargas.
He brawls man and certainly doesn't counterpunch.
He is a good "boxer", has alot of dimensions to his game, but later in his career. He brawls. Or swarms. Whatever you want to call it.
To me, he blocks a flurry and then jabs when they are done... in effect, counterpunching. When he feels really crazy, he throws a left hand in there too.
Winky brawls with everyone bro....
He stands behind his gloves and counterpunches is what I see. I don't see any toe-to-toe action from Wright for the most part... even against smaller guys.
Did he really brawl with Trinidad?
I agree with the thread starter.
Miranda wins this one. Styles make fights. I just see Winky trying to walk him down and brawl with him and gets clubbed to death.
Why would Winky try to brawl with him?
When has Winky ever tried to brawl with anyone?
Hows Winkys chin? What if Miranda connects? Thats my question on this fight.
Winky's chin is REALLY good. The only fight I can remember him being down Julio Cesar Vazquez, and he was down 5 times, although I have heard that a lot were rabbit punches and pushdowns. I haven't seen it. Either way, he's not been hurt in like forever.

Important message for you guys: BWAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
:owned: :owned:
Winky has a much better defense than Abraham...I would like to see Trinidad vs Miranda at 160
That's true. It might take another round or two to bust Winky's jaw in two places and put him into the hospital..... :owned: back at ya

Miranda has a granite chin, people tend to think he's chinney because he got TKOED by Pavlik. What people should be amazed is that he took 7 rounds of clean punches from Pavlik and he still got up. (although if the fight continued he probably would of gotten killed) Against Wright who is a feather fister at 168, I could see Miranda winning or Wright outboxing him for UD, it could go either way.
tito lost so big because he didnt punch unless he had an opening, he did not try to creat them, miranda would try to make the openings like taylor did. i see winky winning but miranda doing better then tito did
I think miranda would actually win this. you saw what taylor done to wright with his power shots, imagine what miranda would do to him. I think that because miranda throws wide looping punches it would be hard for wink to block them as they would be coming from all angles thus he would get caught a good few times which is more than enough to hurt any man. :boxing:
