Mike Tyson gave us enough entertainment in the ring and out of the ring. I'm satisfied. Could he have done better? sure, but he did great for the life he had and the way he grew up. Nobody could understand the mental issues he has but him.

the machine....we can all watch mike tyson highlight videos and remember what he was back when he was good,when he trained, and when he wasnt a dick head, but really.....in an over all look at his boxing life...he does not make the top 10 heavyweights

Tyson isn't the Greatest by any means, not even prime for prime but his style was fun to watch and his interviews and quotes are golden. He was obviously not going to last very long with his physically and mentally demanding style, also the fact that he had all the money and the fame in the world at an early age.

He knew nothing else other than boxing, and chose to be a compulsive/impulsive spender for his fixes, so needed to keep fighting, and to release some anger

And he'd had enough of life itself before even the Spinks fight, with Givens messing his head, and attempted suicide in Oct '88. He barely trained for Bruno. if you belive he "hell out of love with boxing" your part of the problem, at the time of the spinks fight he could have left boxing and would have been remebered a great fighter now wat is he........he's a "guy that could have done"

Going from poverty to extreme wealth (and celebrity status) is a transition that many fighters can't deal with. Hard training in the gym doesn't prepare you for that. great post man very true
