Make your opinions known. We've got some excellent fights this year, but unfortunately, we got some greedy fighters/promoters drooling at the small comeback Boxing has made and are already trying to exploit it.
OKAY, im pretty positive Tyson-Holyfield 3 aint hapenning, regardless of evander says. we know how mike feels, and he's not going into this fight, or any other fight. if the man cant even finish a world tour properly, (which was suppoused to be a fun venture) what makes you think he's gonna get in the ring and fight again. even for that one fight, with equally shot and old if not older evander. he doesnt want to fight no more, he doesnt want to train. im quite sure that it was a publicity stunt for evander, who just wanted to ger people's ears again, (yes i said ears, so) and let them know that he's still in it after a loss. tyson-holyfield ISNT GOING TO HAPPEN, and you can bet on it. jsut sayin cuz some of you guys are actually taking this seriously and making votes on it.
the other 2 fights however are official and are happening. my pick would be mayweather-de la hoya rematch, for its political reasons, its cheap drama which will lead to nowhere in the end, and just the fact that they have the balls and the face to make this rematch after the first fight which was total disgrace. De la hoya-mayweather 1 was not the worst fight, but with all the hype, with all the money those guys were paid, it was a pure con job.
The biggest disgrace is no Cotto vs Mayweather fight, and that fight won't happen because DLH got into the way to prostitute the sport once again.
I hope boxing fans boycott that fight.
Holy vs Tyson is not even relevant anymore, just don't watch it and it won't be a disgrace.
Gomez vs Cotto is decent, at least.
Mayweather in the WWE...
He's embarrasing himself and doin lame shit, when actual fighters want a piece of what he has. What part of the game is this exactly?
The part of the game where he makes $20million dollars and we get to see every last penny of it around his shiny neck after wrestlemania. LOL!!!
Cotto vs. Gomez is not Cotto's fault..
That's the fault of Floyd Mayweather, Top Rank, and Oscar De La Hoya.
Oscar and Floyd both deserve the award - it's nice there's an option to vote for both of them. :fing02:
i voted Tyson/Holyfield III by the way. if that happens, its almost as if it was a sign that boxing is scraping the bottom of the barrel to try to make a come back.
uhhhhh there can be no other choice besides Cotto-Gomez because Cotto is supposedly a big name now yet he's fighting a guy most boxing fans don't even know. you should add Hatton's fight to this list as well, even though we've come to expect Hatton would go back to fighting bums. I'm shocked about Cotto.
DLH and Mayweather are the biggest 2 names in the sport.
Tyson and Holyfield are probably right behind them.
Cotto vs Gomez will have more action than Oscar vs Floyd 2, so I don't know why people are beefin about that. You can already see the drama starting to begin with the whole Floyd Sr involvement in the training of De La Hoya for PBF. It's such a pointless fight.
Holyfield vs Tyson isn't happening. Tyson stated he doesn't even train nor watch boxing much anymore.
Really suprised so many people are saying Floyd/DLH II is such a disgrace. It was a competetive fight.......I know it's just a farce to make money but I don't think it's a bad fight or matchup.
Tyson/Holy is a complete joke......
Cott/Gomez is going to be alot better fight than most people are thinking.....I actually think it's a good fight and besides Cotto deserves a break if thats what you want to call it after a busy year last year against TOP level WWs.....unlike our little buddy mentioned in the first paragraph.....And yes Judah is a top level WW......
There is something I dont get about the PBF DLH fight, and I feel its an important point that needs to be well made.
When Mayweather fought Castillo for the first time, it was a close fight, with an arguement for both fighters winning. There was a rematch, and Mayweather won it convincingly.
The DLH parallels the first Castillo fight in almost every way, DLH was the champion and so was Castillo, and both fights were very close indeed. I personally believe that Castillo beat Mayweather but DLH didnt, but my opinion doesnt really matter, fact is both fights were very close.
The point I'm making is this: When Mayweather gave Castillo a rematch, there wasnt much of a fuss, yet EXACTLY the same situation with DLH, and its a disgrace?
The Castillo fight, according to the punchstat numbers and most everyone ringside, Castillo won the fight, even though the judges scores were someone lopsided in favour of Mayweather. Floyd kept that title and went on to defend it. The DLH fight was not that close, in spite of one judge who wasn't wearing his glasses that day apparantly, and most everyone at ringside agreed. Floyd has since thrown that belt in the garbage, so a rematch is completely pointless. DLH is just keeping possible unification bouts from happening or Floyd even defending his belt against a legitimate WW top ranked contender.
I dont think there's anything wrong at all with old-timers bouts like Holyfield Tyson. People still want to see these guys fight, I do, but who can they beat but unknowns and than guys their own age. I'd only be bothered if people were acting like this has some significance in the rankings or something but it doesn't and at least their both heavyweights and had one great fight in 96 that alot of people will remember.
Trinidad Jones makes alot less sense than Tyson Holyfield. Complain about that if you think everybody should retire after 1 loss or whatever.
I dont give a shit. Im buying Tyson Holyfield III.
So am I .
As stated it has the capacity to be interesting. You don't know what will happen......and it's not like when they fought years back.
I mean Bates (Insurance Salesman) put Holy on queer street into the ropes.
