personly i think Rugby union is toughter than boxing because to play them type of matches week in and week out is just brutal.
Sorry mate but no way, last year I played 1st grade Rugby Union on saturdays and Rugby league on the sunday, there is no way I could fight for twelve rounds saturday and get up and do it again.
This is a damn ignorant list. Baseball, soccer, skiing, basketball, tennis all tougher than rugby? Gimme a break, that ridiculous.
I can only imagine espn are misleading us and their "panel of experts" actually know very little about rugby. Rugby is top 5 EASY. Have these guys ever seen what a rugby player looks like after a game. In fact, i'm sure this list is biased big time cos the more I think about it rugby is on a par with NFL (i think NFL was even developed from rugby).
But according to these chumps you need to stronger and more powerful for NFL and apparently more power for tennis???? Totally stupid
We shouldnt need an article to realize this. Most of us should of noticed during our first month of training
but not all of us have tried all those sports. It's just official Boxing is the hardest, it's not just for us to read for our own satifaction it's for everyone an analysis. Their will alway be the argument that sports like MMA, Rugby, American Football are harder to train for now it's official according to ESPN.
I'd like to see how boxing coopares to MMA? I think it is tougher than MMA also.
Sorry, but baseball is hardly a sport. Like golf or chess it is a game and nothing more.
i love boxing and appreciate the sacrfices boxers make, but that isnt mandatory for a sport. u are way off base there. and chess isnt a physical sport, but if u have ever played competitively it is mentally grueling and requires complete dedication. as for baseball, wtf? ever heard of hand eye coordination?
Don't worry about rawtyson he is just a stupid troll who likes to rile people up.
i'm being serious this time, yea boxing is the toughest sport... so what, most of you guys don't box, you just sit here and gossip about boxers. btw im not a troll
IMO it is, because it takes a lot out of you mentally and physically, and they don't get big paydays like an NBA bench warmer. Even some top fighters don't get big paydays unless there a draw. So one, the money isn't there, and two, it tears the body down from all that training.

true but in Rugby Union their isn't just you and one opponent you can count on others and the training for boxers to make weight or just to train puts them through hell for most of the time over a month. Being Weight drained must be such a burden for top fighters. David Haye for example had to drop 20 lbs of muscle judging from ihs frame. You can only do that for so long before your body is unable to cope much like what happened to Tarver and Jones when they moved from Heavy for the film or the fight in such a quick time it destroyed them.

Martial Arts is on the list, I would classify that in MMA
