I don't think Pacquiao's performance against Barrera looked like the performance of the P4P number two. i understand, but floyds last couple performances were looked at in the same vain and he wasnt removed, i dont think the same should happen to manny, id be a hypocrite if i said otherwise.

I'd probably pick Hopkins to beat Pavlik right now, but I don't know. Hopkins hasn't shown me anything lately to make me think he can beat a relentless puncher like Pavlik, much less Calzaghe I would agree that Hopkins would beat Pavlik. And in fairness Hopkins dropped out of the rankings after the second loss to Taylor only to spring right back up there when he moved to light heavy and beat Tarver. My point being that a p4p guy can be beaten by a fighter and still be above them in the p4p rankings depending on the circumstances. Taylor beat Hopkins but do you really think that Taylor could have beaten Tarver? Do you think that Hopkins would have been kayoed by Pavlik? It's a funny thing the p4p rankings.

I'm surprised they have JMM and Hopkins in front of Calzaghe. It's good of The Ring to recognize Hatton's effort and not drop him. Yeah Floyd beat him cleanly, but losing to number 1 doesn't mean you suddenly got worse. We need to credit guys for tyaking the biog fights, not lpunish them.

To answer a couple people in one post: 1) Floyd is everyone's #1, not just The Ring's. This is the same magazine that had Hopkins ranked ahead of Roy on the list for beating Trinidad, despite Roy rolling over his opposition and looking good doing it. Just because The Ring picks the guy EVERYONE picks doesn't mean they are intelligent at that magazine. It means they have no choice because if they could have another guy as #1, believe me, they would. 2) No, I don't think any of the main writers, contributors to the Ring have anything worthwhile to say. Nigel Collins is a complete moron and he's in charge over there. I think Bert Sugar runs the whole thing, and we all know how retarded that "boxing historian" is. Now that Oscar owns it, I expect it to get a lot worse. I stopped buying the fuckin thing 2 years ago.
