any sympathy for Ricky ? i personally feel gutted for him i really do as i did for Kessler although i wanted Joe to beat him ,i felt bad for Jermain Taylor aswell
the hatred towards Taylor & Hatton has been very strong IMO Kessler has been called a Robot i think these guys deserve more respect for there very brave showings okay they lost but niether of them laid down
yeah I wish He just got put down, not hooked into a ring post. It makes me feel bad for him.
Maybe Ricky goes back to 140 and gives Tszyu a rematch in Australia this time. lol..............What goes around, comes around.
Cortez came around this time. From the first bell he was all over Hatton like a rash. I'm sure it took everything Hatton had to be as graceful as he was during the post fight interview. He was pissed. And, he came very close to looking like a sore loser. It would have been better had he just said "I lost to the better man tonight" and got the hell out of there.
I felt bad for him when he got knocked out because he's such a nice guy and he gave it his all in that fight. I'm not a big Hatton fan but he earned my respect with trying to get up and keep fighting.

LOL! It would be safer betting on Wlad.

In all fairness got what he asked for.
thats it Ricky made millions for stepping up
hes def not a coward
hes the type of brawler/boxer that makes you want to watch the sport :)
i just wanna see him clean up the JWW division now
Joe Calzaghe no matter what ne1 says hes jus quality
I was absolutely gutted and still am a bit, and I never considered myself a big Hatton fan. But he fought his arse off, genuinely believed he could win and just ran into a guy that was far to good for him. He got paid 10 million for the priviledge so it's not all bad!
I'm a bigger Hatton fan now then I was before the fight, I can't help it, I'm a sucker for a loveable loser. That said I'd wear black for a month if Calzaghe lost.
For sure...
The most important thing is Ricky stepped up to the challenge and gave his all despite the criticisms. That's to be commended.
He could've chosen not to fight Floyd.
Instead, he stepped up to the plate and swung as hard as he could.
I still think he is a very funny and likable fellow who can still go on fighting with the full support of his fans here and in the UK, no doubt.
Not every fighter can win every fight.
I'm sure he finds comfort in the love and support from his family, which money can't buy, regardless of the outcome.
Bottom line: He got Floyd's and a lot of other fans' respect, he's not a coward, and he made million$ doing it.
Cheers to Ricky! :boxing:

Yes m8,decent post ..
Anyway yeh I also agree with your Kessler remark,I am a die hard Calzaghe fan and have closely watched the guy since he beaten Eubank and I would have been devastated had he have lost BUT Kessler now has also made a big big fan out of me since his fight with Joe and beyer.
Anyway yeh I also feel the same about Ricky, last night could have gone so different had Ricky been allowed to fight his fight and also lasted the 12 rounds because if you think had he not lost the point and also kept up the pace and had it gone 12 rounds he might have won considering the American judges there have scored for aggression before today and talking about that point deduction....well you dont stop boxing untill the ref steps in so Ricky righly kept on throwing punches and it was Mayweather who put himself throo those ropes not Ricky,Mayweather was ducking very low even below the belt ON PURPOSE because either he knew Cortez was on Ricky's case or as my friend suggested Mayweathers notoriety and money was involved and anyway he knew the ref would get Ricky for carrying on boxing when Mayweather had his head so low, also the puch stopped b4 his head anyway and just brushed off the top rope.
I told my m8s the chance that Ricky has got is to really keep the fight at a fast pace and keep on the inside and really bang to the body hard which Ricky is good at but tbh he didnt do much of that last night he went for the head a lot but yeh that was his chance, because Mayweather doesnt like to get hurt,he only ever does just enough to win and if Ricky really took him to the streets then maybe he could just then take his around the back alley and propa mug him BUT the ref was NOT gonna allow it but this is boxing man it aint no tea party and that was a world title bout and for Joe Cortez to behave like that is a suspicious disgrace.
Anyway after he took the point away then Ricky had to really go to town because now all of a sudden hes a desparate man needing to claw the point back, especially if it goes the 12 rounds and so he went on the attack even more which imo suited Mayweather because he runs around the ring getting away and turning his back and falling back on ropes and soaks up some punches to his guard or shoulders BUT THEN IF YOU FALL SHORT AND HE COUNTERS YOU YOUR FUCKED and hes good at that and did it last night with a peach of a hook after which imo the writing was on the wall for Ricky.Sad to see him get knocked out like that when it could have been so different had the Ref let him fight his fight and keep up the momentum but no he had to keep breaking it up,it was really bad refereeing I used to respect the man,not even so much for his ref work but ya know hes a familiar face of some great fights but last night was his worst ever.
I mean ive never been a big Hatton fan and even some of my friends say 'wat you dont think Hatton is a great fighter?ARe u mad?' and I do think hes a good fighter butive just never been a big fan,hes never really 100% convinced me but I do like him,hes a down to earth type of guy and does like to have a tear up which is good, hes a Rocky type of boxer and was just sad to see him get knocked out like that and expecially the way the fight was,I mean he must have felt like hes fighting both Mayweather and Cortez too.
Anyway as I say ive never been a big fan of Hatton,Calzaghe I have tho and cant wait for the Hopkins fight but to the guys saying 'I dont feel bad for him cos hes a millionaire',I thought we was talking about boxing here ?
LoL im skint tbh my banks robbing me so yeh if your talking like that I dont feel sorry for him no....LoL,hes had a better life and able to provide much better than I ever will and you only get one life.

For me, that was the hardest KO to watch in a long time. I knew Hatton wouldnt win, but to go out with such an embarrassing KO really sucked. You could tell after the fight that his pride was crushed. He said he doesnt do it for the belts or the money, but for the glory of it. He didnt have to risk his unbeaten record and come to America to the hometown of the #1 pound for pound fighter and move up in weight to fight him, but he did. He fought the best he could and I guess its better to go out fighting then just trying to survive like alot of fighters would have been.
the only post about hatton that ive liked...........
quote from i dont know who.........
"" i rather lose saying i was gonna win.... than win saying i was gonna lose ""

I'm sorry Brother. I could not resist LOL. I joined you on the Mosley loss. You can't win them all.
Hatton made 20 fucking million dollars, how can anybody feel sorry for him??? Hatton should retire, he can be the champion of getting really drunk and playing darts.
No world class gambler should bet on a boxer who is an alcoholic and balloons into a fat fuck in between fights.
Very sound advice.
WWLAD OWNS. Please... you own a pyrogi stand, and a bottle of smirnov.
Did I misspell that? Probably. Do I care? Not as much as you think so.
Sympathy??
As I get up at 5 in the morning and drive an hour to my work in shitty, snowy, Winter weather just so I can be bossed around by Fuckheads, that I would not piss on if they were on fire.
I will be thinking, Poor Multi Millionaire Ricky.
I would let anybody bounce my head off all 4 corner posts for the multi millions Ricky is getting.

No sympathy at all. Hatton gave it his all and that nothing to be ashamed of. Lets face, PBF is a great fighter..he would give anyone in the 140/147 division hell. Well done Ricky...it was a great fight!
