At the time of the stoppage, two judges had 89-81 for Mayweather and one 82-81.
In my eyes this is a pure robbery. How can you score a boxing match in this way? I agree with Lederman's card until the 10th (I had two points for Mayweather).
What do you think?
I had it 6 rounds to two with one even at the time of the stoppage. The only definitive round Ricky won was round 5 but I try to score fights as unbiased as I can so those other rounds could have gone either way.
That's how I had it. Ricky could have been even after 6 without the point deduction, or if Floyd had've had a point deducted for those 2 consecutive punches to the back of Ricky's head at the end of the 6th. Ricky was screwed after that and lost the 7, 8, 9 in a row and then just kept jumping straight in without sidestepping like he was earlier, till the knockout.
I think alot of people dont know how to score a fight. But of course it isnt an exact science.
Hatttons pressure was effective in the first half of the fight because he had Floyd on the backfoot. He forced Floyd to move and evade him. It was ring generalship to an extent. Hatton was more effective early on at applying pressure than Floyd was at catching him coming in.
So i can understand Harolds scorecard, but not the judges.
And it DOES MATTER. Poor judging is terrible for boxing, KO or no KO.
When you consider that Hatton only won 1 round clearly (5th) & Hatton got a point deducted & it was PBFs belt I cant trip over the scorecards because in the end it didnt matter anyway. That was 1 of the most biased commentating jobs HBO has ever done. Disappointed in Harold Lederman.
i thought hatton did a little better than the official judges scored, but it doesnt really matter considering hatton couldnt finish the fight.
Yeah I thought hatton did better than the judges scored. Maybe mayweather by 2 points since they took the 1 point away from hatton.
that fight was the absolute worst for non boxing fans to watch. the casual fans I was with kept asking me if Hatton was winning the rounds all excitedly and I said very plainly, "No." they would all go "OHHH!" at the sight of Lederman's card and I just smiled calmly. the judges weren't swayed by his B.S.

I had Hatton winning two rounds, Lederman's scoring was an abomination.
Blatent bias.

I agree but as stated earlier with the way It ended It Is all irrelevant. If you watch the fight you will see that for the first half of the fight Floyd did nothing but run and throw one punch at a time(Hatton was definatly the aggresor and chased Floyd for the first 6 rounds)so how you give rounds to a guy that does nothing but play catch me If you can Is a mystery.Anyway that left hook (KO punch) was simply amazing,It kind of reminds me of a prime Roy Jones Jr.
How many rounds can u win landing 6 punches a round with a couple of rounds with no punches landed at all, and the majority of those being body shots? Rounds arent won by the person chasing the other guy around like so many people seem to think.Rounds are won by clean affect punching, thats whats boxing is about. If i chase you around all round landing 6 sloppy punches while were clenched, and u land 10-14 clean punches in the middle of the ring were all the judges can see. Who do u think gets the round?
they dont see compu box dude. and how can you give someone rounds when they are landing 5 punches a round??????? i think hatton only landed 30 something total punches. How are you complaining you have to hit the guy to actually win fights. the only person landing 1 punch at a time was hatton. watch the fight again. I think i gave hatton the 1st round and that's it! and that's an honest opinion.
"dude," thats my point, unless they are punch-counting then there is no way you would have Floyd dominating hatton in that fight. I only had hatton winning 4 rounds, but he controlled the ring and put on all the pressure.
You don't score ineffective aggression. You have to score for the guy who connects clean and uses better defense if the other guy is just coming forward and not hitting anything legal.
Yeah, but that wasn't the case. Hatton was landing partial shots as well as the occasional real clean shot. Until late. our aggression isn't 'ineffective' if the other guy isn't doing anything back.
When you are pushing the fight, and your opponent lands 3 or 4 clean shots a round, you are bound to win some rounds. Hatton may have only landed 1 shot at a time but he was throwing more and landing a decent amount of partial blows. He was pushing the fight and his arm was being held by Floyd in many rounds. This is enough to give Hatton more than 2 rounds. Pathetic scoring.
There were at least 3 rounds where Hatton's aggression was better than Floyd's doing nothing. Your aggression isn't 'ineffective' if the other guy isn't doing anything back.
One 'clean' shot doesn't win a round over a 2 and a half minutes worth of ring control and partial shots, plus Hatton was landing real clean every now and then as well in the early going with jabs and an occasional hook.
