Never seen him rush in so quick before and from start to finish he didnt give hatton a chance. Not making excuses for hatton but come on what a disgrace that ref was.
Hatton lost, no excuses. But Cortez took a point the first time Hatton tried to hit the back of the head, no warnings. He repeatedly warned Floyd about the forearm, even going into his corner between rounds to warn his corner, and he never took a point from Floyd.
floyd was outside the ropes with his back turned and hatton hit him in the back of the head. that was no mistake that didnt deserve a warning. but ladies why do you guys keep crying about points points weren't needed to determine who was the better fighter in this fight. and even if they didnt take that point away hatton was still never in the fight and would have lost ud
Yeah, but by that time Ricky was tired from chasing the fight while Mayweather sat back and moved into the spaces.
The ref had too much of an influence.
lmfao get the fuck out of here with your lame excuses. I knew you dumb ass' would find something to complain about. You guys were talking brave like men just 24hrs ago now stfu and take it like a man. That did not lost hatton the fight hatton was outclassed is sized speed whatever you want to say. fuck hatton and his stupid holding tactics hit and hold hit and hold. floyd beat hatton in his own game! nothing any ref could have done to make this a different outcome hatton never belonged here. pretty embarrasing to get ktfo by a pitty patter puncher with fragile hands that runs everything. I wonder how it feels to get knocked silly then insult to injury fly head first into the turnbuckle lmao:nonono: let me guess cortez shouldnt have stopped the fight either hatton is tough he could have kept on going right?

Floyd's use of his elbow was to get Hatton off of him.
Cortez stressed to Hatton numerous times to quit with the holding. In the dressing room, Graham was explaining that Hatton has an "aggressive" style, etc. Cortez made it clear the fighters could fight, not wrestle.
Hatton gets away with that in the UK. He shouldn't. All the holding is unproductive and IMO, cheating. Hatton holds excessively.
Beauty you are becoming one of them. You can't be serious. Floyd was the one doing the holding. Were you even watching the fight?
The refereeing was a travesty. The worst officiated major sporting event I have ever witnessed.
Great fight from Floyd, but Cortez never let it be fair in the first place.
If anyone deserved the deduction, it was Floyd for turning his back, which IS a foul.

Agree. Cortez gave both fighters explicit instructions in their dressing rooms before the fight. Both boxers knew what Cortez was going to do. No big surprise here!
Yeah there were times that I felt Cortez broke them up too quickly and didn't let them work it out, but as the fight went on he let them do some infighting and Floyd was actually better on the inside an area you would think Hatton would dominate in.
Excuses, excuses, I watched the fight again, and I'll agree the ref did let Mayweather get away with a few things, but it had nothing to do with Hatton getting knocked out. Hatton was no angle in there. He was doing a lot of muling, and hitting and holding. That's exactly why Mayweather was pushing off Hatton (in his face) with the fore arm. Hatton purposely tried to hit Mayweather behind the head, he deserved getting that point deducted. As far as the ref separating them to quick, that's BS because all Hatton would have accomplished was hitting and holding. He was trying to keep Mayweather from moving away from his punches by muling him, and that's not boxing. Lots of referees break fighters as soon as they tie up, why didn't anyone ever complain about that until now? Hatton had only one way to beat Mayweather, but that way was too dirty for boxing that's why the ref separated them. But we all knew Hatton fans would be crying after the fight. If it was so bad, why did the Brits applaud Mayweather after the fight?
i agree that you have to break it up but not so quick let them hug for a little while and see what happens not rush in straight away like that. And as for the use of elbows ricky said that he would of used them like that if he could but it wasnt he style so fairs fair.
i thought cortez fucked up the fight a lil ..it would have been more exciting ..and i agree that floyd was holding more then hatton ..good job by floyd

At first he was breaking them apart way to fucken much then he let them fight. The point was unwarrented and should have only got a warning. Floyd consitantly used the elbow and a few times laced hatton and floyd got no warning. Cotez wasnt' on his a game but he at least eventually let them fight.
I though he was the best but after that poor show, even when Billy Graham told him what the mayweather camp were going to do.
he did the same thing to Golota during the infamous 2nd Bowe fight, he went on and on at Golota in the dressing room before the fight and put him off.
