Ricky Hatton was completely and utterly outclassed from start to finish. He seemed to weak at the higher weight and Mayweather was stronger by far. To FMs credit he looked completely comfortable inside (Hattons supposed strength) and utterly invincible on the outside.
He was stronger, much much faster and punched far harder.
The Ref argument is irrelevent because Hatton was NEVER going to beat Mayweather inside anyway, i dont think he landed a meaningful body shot in the fight.
Hatton was made to look rather inadequate by a man who decided he didnt want to sit on the ropes all night and get his body torn to shreds. FH did what he had to do inside, and wiped Hatton out on the outside.
I wish people would accept that Ricky Hatton is a great boxer but not exceptional.
Britains no1 boxer? Oh please!
Ricky, accept the truth, you were out of your depth. No shame in that, but no excuses please!
by the way, i LIKE Hatton, im just honest.
Floyd is the bigger fighter. I'll aggree that floyd did look very strong in the last 2 rounds of the fight, but hatton seemed to comeback. I don't see how you can talk shit about hatton performance when he forced mayweather to fight his fight and i had hatton winning up untill the stoppage. I think at the time i had only given mayweather 4 rounds at the time of the stoppage.QUOTE]
its your opinion and your entitled to it but have you watched the fight again yet? Mayweather NEVER looked troubled and the knock down was a jab that caught him off balance rather than hurt him.
If Ricky won a load of rounds they will have been for moving forward, but youve got to do more than move forward. He was NEVER landing clean crisp shots. Sorry, but thats the fight i saw.

The fight was competitive throughout the first half. Floyd was confused by Hatton's speed and head movement, and spent a lot of time fighting out of his comfort zone. When Hatton abandoned his boxing and started just bullrushing he got picked apart.
hatton was definately winning the war of ring-generalship. and the first thing i noticed after the first 4 rounds was that the fight looked exactly how i imagine ricky hatton wanted it to look. he made it into a real fight and it made floyd's win look good. but ricky made the fight what it was (VERY entertaining)
Who do you think is the best British boxer then??
Calzaghe, obviously. Before and after this fight. Had Hatton won this one, he would have leapfrogged Joe.
