any comments on Ponce de leon

I think he's improved greatly and no doubt hits hard. I thought for a few round that Ponce was going to be defeated but then he forced his opponet into a shell. That guy is wild and his technique sucks but has improved. Check out the Al Seeger fight you will see the most feared amaturish fighter around in boxing but like i said he has gottne better tons better since his fight with Seeger. I forgot to add, he's one of the best in his division.

when he loses, he is goin to look foolish. He looked foolish y'day and he won. I sincerely think I could have avoid alot of those punches, the guy was swinging for hills. Like Darke said those punches 'have 2nd class stamps on'. Im being harsh coz it's all I have seen. I can only assume thats the worst fight of his career. He looked very sloppy last night. I have not seen him fight before, is that just his style or was he off his game?

He came in with ahuge reputation, but looked nowhere near world class in that fight. Very sloppy technique.

I had Escobedo winning 115-113 Ponce De Leon is a shocker. The definition of windmill. Imagine p4p what someone like Calzaghe or Mayweather would do to him. Yeah Ponce De Leon looked crude last night, no leads, no combos, no anything.

He has a lot of flaws, the way he goes in, a good counter-puncher would exterminate him, also, the other fighter was a slut. Like Larry mentioned, he shouldn't be allowed to go down with his head like that. He did it the whole fight, and the ref was warning Ponce. yeah kenny bayless lost some respect imo, i mean when a guy does that then imo you should be able to try and score anyway or when someone turns his back you should be able to punche them...its their own fault...

Looks like De Leon hits pretty damn hard for a 122 pounder, but he definitely need to work on his jab, counters, movement, speed, etc. Someone like Marquez or Vasquez would have a field day with him right now, unless he got lucky with a big punch. Rediculous how the other guy kept dropping his kead down to his waist every time he came in.

Lmao,He could'nt even ko Escobedo Rafa would knockout de leon in less than 5rounds. maybe because escobedo was running and crouchinf the whole fight??? :rolleyes: rafa doesnt have a chin so de leon has a very good chance to KO him and De Leon would know his only chance would be to score a KO because he wouldnt be able to outwork Rafael, so he should come out swinging like crazy...israel vasquez is a differnet story but i see a possibilty for de leon too..remember that vasquez has problem with big guys who can keep him outside with workrate and size(see hector velasquez fight)... he needs a new trainer though, his trainer sucks...hes too hard on him IMO...and the wild animal in de leon is what makes him, he doesnt need someone to impose boxing skills on him...

de leon was awful yesterday. he just threw big, slow and powerless swings all night. i dont know if he is always like that, or was just tonight that he was just on a bad night. the thing is that i was totally dissapointed with that fight.

his opponent yesterday was a total homo IMO..... but De Leon really sint bad at all, he can KO you and if that doesnt work he can outwork the shit out of you and beat you comfortably..... i actually think he could KO Rafael Marquez, even though Rafa is my Boy...
