Does Floyd need to proove more?

I think he needs to prove more by fighting a real welterweight like Paul Williams or Cotto.. Hatton is not a welterweight.. He has not face yet a true fighter in his division.. Yea theres quite a few options out there which would make good fights.. its all about if he even wants to anymore...

It would shut me up. If he does that than I think he's definitely sealed his legacy. I'd love to see him fight Mosley and Margarito too. Mosley just because I would like to see that fight and Margarito to shut Viva Mexico up. agreed......

The problem is that there will always be new young boxers in any division..... i mean eventually mayweather has to retire.......... just because he p4p best in the world ....dosent mean that he has to keep fighting until he loses..... floyd regardless of anything is getting older...... you cnt fight forver......... and when he truly retires there will be people saying that he retired before fighting so and so...thats a given theres always gonna be some boxer around when u retire that u havent fought........ All u have to know is this.......... in all his fights people always say thats the guy he's gonna lose to ..it happened with hatton...DLH...gatti...corrales...and so forth......... but he's won every fight................ and you cant expect him to go forever.....................

as a fan a fight with cotto is a dream fight. beautiful clash of styles. and don't be fooled...cotto is no hatton. cotto is a bigger, better fighter. floyd is the best fighter around bar none. we should all want to see him continue to fight as long as he has a passion for the sport because he is a special fighter.

It's not that he has anything to prove. He just has good options and he's on top. If he wants to retire fine, just stay retired. Dont come back in a year and face someone not named Williams or Cotto. exactamundo. floyd doesn't have to do anything he doesn't want to do, but if he's gonna continue to box he better be fighting one of those motherfuckers.

he fought Ricky Hatton. a fighter his camp said didnt deserve to be in the ring with Floyd. its not like he dismantled Paul Williams or Joe Calzaghe.

It's just him and Cotto but is it worth it??? Cotto definitely will lose and so I don't think Floyd has anything to prove and he can just focus on his kids and whatever he wants.

One fight against Cotto and it's over and out and ATG for me. If he retires now he is the best fighter of his generation like Micky Hatton said. But Cotto will be a question mark, even if it's a question mark most would reason that he would have dealt with anyway.

he should still fight cotto. miguel cotto is a growing threat that's been on the radar for more than a couple of years. to me it's the last fight to be made. i don't think floyd has to fuck with williams, margarito, cintron- any of those guys if he doesn't feel like it. but if he caps his career at an even 40-0 with a final win over cotto, that is seriously something special.

Well if Floyd wants to be known as a top 3 ATG, he will need to fight the best and most dangerous opponent in his division. I'm not saying he needs to fight all the top welterweights, but if he retires right now, it will diminish his legacy somewhat because he DUCKED the best fighters in his divsion, and instead fought an overrated junior welterweight. top 3 atg still wouldnt happen if he did all that..

Floyd better stay away from Cotto, Floyd did GREAT against Ricky, he KHTFO but thats not to say he will beat Cotto, Cotto wont be so wreckless to run into the turnbuckle the way Ricky did, Cotto wont lose to Floyd, I love Floyd as much as each of us on here but he should walk away proud, he should walk away basking in his glory because HONESTLY he deserves it but against Cotto it will be a LOSS.. after seeing what he did to Ricky I actually encourage him to retire, don't deal with the relentless Cotto, don't deal with someone who will go punch for punch with him and actually win, if I was him I myself would retire and just reep my glory, it isn't worth the effort, let someone like Williams go for Cotto or Margarito but why should Floyd take so much of a challenge? it ain't right especially when his hands are injury prone, retire Floyd because no one here would be disappointed in you.. 100

not at all...............he has moved up many many divisions whilst still cleaning up..hats off. hatton kept saying that he is a natural light welter...true that, and mayweather is probably a natural lightweight at best... No cannot agree here, Mayweather walks around at about 150lb and is comfortable at that weight because of this. Also he walks around in great shape therefore I would suggest he is a natural Welter. He was boiled down in his early days added against he was very young and had not added the natural muscle density that you gain around your mid twenties.
