Like i said, Pavlik doesnt have a granite chin, and McClellan does or seemed to.
Plus McClellan i think was more versatile at his best and could box well. Pavlik coming forward the whole time isnt a great idea IMO.
Pavlik has underratted defence. he does not get hit as much as it seems. Miranda was the second hardest hitting middleweight and didn't even have Pavlik in any serious trouble.
The fact that McClellan could back up two monster punchers like Jackson and Benn who both hit harder than Pavlik speaks volumes to me.
thats the thing, Pavlik never takes a step back. i mean think about it, do you really think that Gerald would back up a 6'2 recking ball that throws murderous right hands that says knockout on every shot and does fade late? and prove that Jackson and Benn hit harder than Pavlik. Pavlik has one of the best knockout percentages in the sport right now. this man knocked out Taylor and Miranda within 6 months and they both had great chins.
Pavlik keeps coming foward and never takes a step back. did Benn or Jackson keep coming foward and never took a step back? Gerald would get hit a lot more and probably even harder than in those fights. plus Benn fadded late. Pavlik would be on Gerald all night because he never tires. its hard to see someone taking those right hands from Pavlik flush for 12 rounds.

LMAO! I shouldnt laugh, but i couldnt help it u sick fuck.
Im shocked anyone thinks McClellan would get KO'd.
His chin was tested by 2 of the hardest hitting fighters ever in Jackson and Benn, and he barley flinched.
Is Pavlik fuckin superman now?
He was almost KTFO by Taylor, McClellan would have no trouble taking him out.
Maybe its about technique and styles, but no way Pavlik stops McClellan.

Pavlik would win easily. I don't think the G Man has been the same fighter since Benn sent him to a lifetime of darkness and incontinence. Pavlik Might even be able to finish the job.

This would be a good ass fight and i see Pavlik winning by KO. McClellan drained himself too much by losing as much as 50 pounds to make weight (which is part of the reason he is paralyized today)so i don't see him being able to keep up with Pavlik. Pavlik is a throw back to the old fighters the way he trains and he is always in tip top shape. i think McClellan would get off to a great start and even rocking or staggering Pavlik but i think Pavlik would hang in there (the way he did with Taylor). with McClellan getting tired late, i see Pavlik coming on and landing those murderous right hands that would break Gerald down slowly and out by the 10th round. :boxing:
I don't know if some of you have seen McClellan fight, but the last outcome of this fight would be a KO for Pavlik. Gman had one of the best chins I've ever seen for his size. He took every punch Julian Jackson had to offer, same against Benn untill a bloodcot got to him. I see an early stoppage for McClellan after the overhand right connects, then it's a matter of finishing it as he was a great puncher with immense power and a lot of speed.
I agree. Early in McClellan's career he got beat by Ralph Ward(12-3) and Dennis Milton(11-2-1) so he was a bit of a late bloomer. I have the Benn-McClellan fight on tape and if the fight was in America I believe it would've been stopped in the first. That damn French Ref kept getting in the way. But take nothing away from Benn he had one of the biggest hearts in any fighter I've seen especially one with a glass jaw. Benn is one of my favorite fighters:boxing:
yep........
Let's not get carried away, Pavlik may not hit as hard as Gman but he's definitely a better all around fighter. I mean when Gman was Pavlik's age he was nowhere near as good or had achieved as much as Pavlik has. I would say the 27 year old McClellan that fought Jackson the 2nd time would beat current 25 year old Pavlik, but Pavlik in a year or two will be better than any McClellan.

pavlik wins in late round ko. if you could take mclellan the distance and you have power plus great stamina and good chin you will win
Gerald used to tape bull terriers mouths shut and then have fully able other bull terriers rip them apart. He did this as a pastime. Glad Nigel made him braindead. You reap what you sow.
I'd have to go for Pavlik. I dont think that McClellan would be capable of wheeling himself away from Pavlik's attacks quick enough. Plus he wouldnt see them coming anyway.
McClellan was very dangerous early i will go with G-man KO in the first 4th round.
Who is the girl in your signature?
ive seen nearly all his fights.
News flash: OVERRATED DOESNT MEAN HE SUCKED!!!!!
He was a very good fighter, but he is terribly overrated by plenty of people because (A) He could punch and (B) his currecnt condition.
And saying a fight with Pavlik would even is no where close to an insult
I know that but G-Man is one of the few people who have a chance to beat prime Jones.
I am not saying about the Nigel Benn fight lose or because of his condition or anything but he was the type of person that was fearsome with his punchs and pretty quick puncher-boxer with chin.
But he got shot pretty quick for taking alot of shots to the head by strong punchers. The punchs really comes to you have awhile espically if you are fighting many bouts per year
no he isnt he is one of the few fighters who is going to fight anyone anywhere at any time and for little money.
He flew to England to get the title which no other person from America did in the golden age of MW.
He stood toe2toe against the most powerful puncher and took his shot as well as returning his shot back for a KO.
He was a beast more or less.
If you think he is overrated check his vids and see the potential of greatest,
ive seen nearly all his fights.

Is that something bad? Benn would KO Pavlik as well.
Not a bad thing, but it just proves that he wasn't some unstoppable force that some people make him out to be.
