Antonim that's a lot of money you have put down on Guzman. Did u see his last fight, also it was very long time ago.
it's cool i got change in the bank they're just e-points anyway,that fight is 50 50
Mayweather has fought the better fighters overall at Welter, since we must include Hatton now as well, not to mention better comp through out his entire career.
You can't even bring Hatton into this b/c they haven't fought yet, nor can you about the rest of their careers since it is about one division.
Mitchell is light years above Urkal, and so is Hatton, so you're right, there's no argument at all.
* Prime Hatton >>> 36 year old Mosley
* More fresh and prepared Judah >>>> Judah coming off a loss AND year lay off
* Mitchell >>> Urkal
* Baldomir >>>> Quintana
Come on, Judah was coming off a lost when he fought floyd but you can completely ignore that? And IMO the layoff probably helped him get it all back together, he didn't show any signs of ring rust or anything.
It's bad enough that Floyd would rather go for the bigger amount of money than fighting the best opponents out there, but when the fans that are getting fucked over for this and start justifying(in your bolded point) for a fighter to take the money instead of better opposition than boxing has an even bigger problem. This is part of the reason a lot of fans get turned off from boxing and look to other things such as the UFC. This is why boxing takes so much criticism, and other than hard core fans not many people follow boxing.
Actually and ironically, it was two-fold. It was Mayweather chasing the fight that he'd always craved due to reasons that would benefit him both financially and in terms of legacy, which was a fight with De La Hoya. Please get your facts straight.. Firstly, they wouldn't even let Floyd breath, trying to finalize a fight by April when Floyd had a sprained hand from the Judah fight and was weighting options. Margarito was not a draw and Mayweather at the time was looking to split from Bob Arum due to what he termed, "cutting out the middle man", as he felt used. He wanted to break free from Arum and make a fight with De La Hoya on his own terms, without giving Bob a percentage of course. Only after he turned down Arum's offer and split from him/bought him out, did De La Hoya make a decision and say he wasn't going to fight Floyd that year so Mayweather was stuck and had to pick an opponent to stay active and he had many options. He was even going to fight Spinks (a much better opponent at that time, who just beat Karmazin) but fans wanted to see him fight Baldomir, so he did for more money than Marg, and then got his dream match with DLH. What's the problem? Marg wasn't in demand, it was that simple though a bit more to it as well..

AND IF YOU SUPPORT MARGARITO READ THIS:
This easily sums up the so called Margarito lovers. The majority of them didnt even like or care about Margarito until all this Floyd shit happened. They just hated Floyd so much and it was finally like God sent Margarito down to step up to Floyd.
Everyone hated Floyd but they knew that couldnt anyone beat him even if they wanted him to lose. If Floyd wouldve called out Margarito and made a fight then it wouldnt even be a big deal. People would be talking about it as a regular average fight that Floyd would be heavily favored in. Most of them wouldve actually said that Floyd is again hand picking a nobody who hasnt beaten anyone and only has a vacant belt and again another guy coming off a loss.
That fight wouldve got no hype at all but Floyd didnt do that. Margarito came to Floyd and Floyd turned it down. All the Floyd haters jumped up and said "YES, this is our hero, someone who will stand up to Floyd". Knowning that Floyd wouldnt take the fight then they can say anything they want about him being scared & a fraud who knows that Margarito will kill him when the truth is that they wouldve never killed or made a big deal about this fight if Floyd had called out Margarito from the jump.
Let me ask all of you this? How come I dont remember hearing anyone saying before the Zab or Mitchell fight, "I cant wait for this to be over so Floyd can fight Margarito"?
No one said that shit. No one cared about Margarito or that fight. Even after Baldy beat Zab no one said, "ok Floyd can fight Margarito now". Everyone ripped Floyd and said that he should be fighting Baldy instead of Zab because Baldy is the real champ. No one gave a fuck about Margarito or that fight. If Floyd wouldve fought Margarito right after Baldy beat Zab then everyone wouldve called Floyd a bitch for fighting Margarito and said how he is handpicking another guy who just lost, has a fake title, and he will be heavily favored against.
If Floyd wouldve jumped straight on a Margarito fight then this fight would be getting no hype & no fans would be all on Margarito except for handfull. Floyd turned the fight down and the Legend of Margarito grew because so many people hate Floyd & they finaly have a something they can stand on against him. All anyone talked about was Floyd vs Zab, Cotto, Hatton, Oscar, or Shane. Baldy beat Zab and everyone said that Floyd should fight Baldy and he's a bitch if he doesnt. I strictly remember when Floyd was at 140 and talking about moving up, I read so many articles about how great a fight between Floyd & Zab would be. Before Zab beat Spinks everyone was talking about a Floyd-Spinks superfight. No media person or fan gave a fuck about Margarito or thought it was a big fight. Shit, half the media guys who rip him are Mexican & half the fans are Mexican, or Euros who are Hatton freaks.
Now look how things change? You guys are just pure haters who ride the wagon. Never before in history has a guy been criticzed for not taking a fight against a guy with Margarito's resume and it still wouldve never happened but Floyd turned it down and here comes the sharks. You guys are pathetic. Now Margarito is your hero when none of you gave a fuck about him 1st or thought that he was a special opponent for Floyd or thought that it was a big fight, or thought that he could win. Its a joke and you should be ashamed of yourselves[/QUOTE

I seriously doubt this.....he wants $$$ it's clear he cares little bout what we, the fans think about him....
In my view, a real fan wouldn't impose outrageous demands on a fighter that would cause them to overexert themselves, and ultimately harm themselves. Demands like the insistence that it is NECESSARY that one must win titles in 5 different weight classes and remain undefeated for 10 years, in addition to fighting every single new face that enters the picture in your settled weight class in order to be "fan worthy".
Floyd wants to unify the division he want's Cintron/Williams winner because they have two belts. A fight with the last belt holder HAS to happen and if Cotto has that belt then the fight has to get done.
I seriously doubt this.....he wants $$$ it's clear he cares little bout what we, the fans think about him....he wants names for his legacy and cash for his wallet....while I really don't like Floyd in general....one has to respect his skill and business savy.

Because Floyd runs away from real challengers... There is much less money on Cintron and Williams.
that is fucking stupid to say that floyd is running away from real challanges, then you mention cintron and williams like they are just the lower ends of the division, come on man.
Ok, if there is no money in fighting Cotto, then why does he want to fight the winner of Cintron/Williams???
Because Floyd runs away from real challengers... There is much less money on Cintron and Williams.
TO MAKE IT PLAIN AND SIMPLE:
there is no money in cotto PERIOD.
No Money = Equal Cotto fase base is poor Puerto Ricans would dont buy PPV...
Which is true be the number of PPV that Cotto does...
Puertorricans actually go and fill the Madison Square Gardens at capacity. It was a record when Cotto fighted Judah.
If Floyd really wants to be TREULY RESPECTED as the real the Best P4P he MUST FIGHT COTTO, end of the story... I am out!!!!
i think you just opened up a can of worms that's gonna catch you alot of fish.
quintana is better mitchell
mosley is better than baldo
you could argue judah was a better judah vs mosley
but i don't believe that
if anything the rest did judah some good.
Long layoffs affect EVERY fighter. That being said Cotto has faced the better comp. Add Ricky to the mix and it becomes a closer competition.
i am not sure if people on this site are ready to concede that hatton was a 147lber, even if both him and floyd campaigned at 140, either way cotto has faced better opposition at 147, but when it comes to mosley, i think we both know why him and floyd didint fight, but beside that, cotto has the edge.
Cotto only has an edge due to the biased terms of this thread, laid out 3 days after Cotto fights Mosley, while not taking into consideration that Floyd also took a fight at light middle, while he was still a Welter. During this campaign, he fought..
Mitchell, Judah, Baldomir, and De La Hoya
Cotto fought
Urkal, Quintana, Judah, and Mosley
Add Hatton into this equation, and not only is Cotto outnumbered, but the quality of opposition is far superior. Of course Quintana is an unproven prospect who's never showed that he has what it takes to become a Champ and Urkal was a fringe contender who also never won a title and most likely never will. Everyone on Floyd's list are former champs..
Ok so now we're in mid December? Last I checked Hatton hasnt lost yet.

THEY IS NO MONEY IN COTTO !
Floyd already does not get respect for non of his victories....
So it will be the same with Cotto
if floyd beats COTTO.. SO WHAT....He suppose to beat cotto he is P4P the best fighter in this generation....
AND after he beats COTTO you cotto nuthuggers will say well..............
"HE CANT BEAT WHOEVER YOU LIKE AT THE MOMENT"
THEY IS NO PPV IN COTTO THATS WHY HE PICK HATTON...
"COTTO FANS BASE DOES NOT BRING THE REAL MONEY WHICH IS PPV"
All the Other PPV floyd is not in:
MOSLEY VS. COTTO probably 300,000 PPV

"COTTO FANS BASE DOES NOT BRING THE REAL MONEY WHICH IS PPV"
NUMBER DONT LIE..
This what Floyd means when he says their is no money in cotto...
Floyd P.PV fights oNLY HAD 4 PPV fights
Floyd did 350,000 with Judah (2ND PPV)
Floyd vs. Gatti = 340,000 PPV (1sT ppv)
Floyd vs . Carlos Baldomir = 325,000 PPV buys(3Rd PPV)
WHO THE FUCK sells 325,000 PPV FIGHTING Carlos Baldomir ?:wtf:
YOU MEAN TO tell me
Cotto vs. Judah
Hopkins vs. Wright
JMM VS. MAB
is less interesting THEN "Floyd vs . Carlos Baldomir"
Carlos badlomir has less personality and Fan base than Miguel Cotto
Floyd vs. Oscar De La Hoya = 2.15 Million PPV buys
(4TH ppv)
Floyd PPV TOTAL Money after 4 PPV= 167 million (WONT BE TOP)
Out of In any fighter in history 1st four PPV Floyd is the best....Baldomir : $16.3 million
Judah: 15.7 million
Gatti: 15. 3 Million
De La hoya: $120.0 million
Oscar De La Hoya First 4 PPV Total Money
Totol Money: 57.4 Million
1. Rafael Ruelas (5/95) 330,000 buys = $9.9 million
2. Genaro Hernandez (9/95) 220,000 buys = $6.6 million
3. Miguel Angel Gonzalez (1/97) 345,000 buys = $12.1 million
4. Pernell Whitaker (4/97) 720,000 buys = $28.8 million
And if you take away the fourth PPV fight for both OSCAR AND FLOYD ....
Floyd still Wins...
After all those STATS:
what the hell you think he is going to do with HATTON....
You mean to tell me AFTER COMING OFF A 2 MILLION PPV with Oscar PPV that Floyd is not at least going to DO 900,000 ppv is Crazy
This PPV is not Going Under 900,00 PPV
Excellent break down.. I agree.. Cotto will get bigger with time though, he just doesn't have the same pull as someone like Floyd or Hatton..
