you know, with all the talk about hatton holding, ill be honest, if mayweather gets the right ref, and does enough complaining pre-fight about hatton's holding, you may not see that wrestling shit to tell you the truth without alot of warnings and point deductions, i ask you, if this happens, and hatton is forced to fight a normal non-wwe style clinchfest, how will that play out?
To tell you the truth, and you know well that I am a big fan of slicksters (pbf, pea...) I think that bending the rules is part of boxing. I am also a fan of Hopkins, Casamayor and so on... Hatton should not get away with a LOT of that shit, just like Hopkins should be prevented from literally murdering his opponents with headbutts, but I will not be happy if the ref steps in to break every clinch, and takes away points too easily. I'd rather see them low-blow each other, Floyd elbowing his way out of holding, and so on... I want Floyd to show that he can fight old-school (and unlike some modern fighters, show that he could have been a great in the past, where refereeing was not very protective of either fighters), which I am pretty sure he can.
Anyway that's my wish.

agree, still dont catch on what all the fuss bout hatton is,he raves on about showing more excitement in one fight than in floyds whole career but the guy bores the fuck out of me, push punch hold, push punch hold. please floyd knock this guy out and put him out of his misery
I see what you are saying but
imagine Juan throwing 4-6 punch combinations on Floyd... what do you think? I think countered to death. Juans steps out ==> he is giving Floyd room to operate
Now imagine Hatton getting in, throw a couple to the body, clinch, throw one, clinch.... what do you think? I think boring, but I also think he is going to get hit less, he is going to tire Mayweather with all the wrestling, and he is definitely trying to take the fight very far from Mayweather's comfort zone.

juan's inside fighting is far more tactical than Hattons, when do you see hatton throwing 4,6 punch combinations, backing off, throwing 3 punches to the body, then uppercuts upstairs WITHOUT CLINCHING? Hatton is far rougher than diaz, but diaz is a sound tactical fighter. Hattons idea of inside fighting is flatout fucking boring.

You are so obsessed with Mayweather, it is unbelievable . You make a thread about him after every fight.
Forget every fight he does it everyday. That being said Floyd would win by UD Juan is a beast though and I think seeing how Floyd handles Hatton's PRESSURE (not technical infighting ability) will say alot about how he would handle Juans.
Diaz did one thing last night that would give Mayweather a huge advantage. Sure, he put the pressure on in truckloads, but made no attempt to put Julio on the ropes, he merely was staying in close. Floyd could come in and deal with Juan in the pocket (albeit eating a bit of leather) and then take a step back and box him easily. When Castillo fought Julio and Floyd he put them on the ropes and gave them a both a very physical beating. Juan was aggressive, but not physical enough.
There are differences between Hatton and Juan, but the primary tactic is the same...relentless pressure and inside fighting.

yeah but cassamayor isn't on mayweather's level as far as overall skills go. juan diaz would be outclasses havily fighting floyd, plus juan showed some good speed but in the pocket against floyd, especially at 135 where mayweather was faster than he is now, floyd would have tore diaz up.
I don't know...I think it would be a very good contest.

I can't disagree on that. That's why I said he needs to show me and all of us that he can beat a Casamayor who has less tools as a boxer-puncher then floyd. Miguel Cotto proved himself against slick fighters such as Malinaggi, Quintana, Judah. That's why people give him a chance against Mayweather........Juan hasn't proven he can hang with every type of boxing style out there.
Judan Diaz has Joel Casamayor to worry about. Another slick boxer. If he can beat him then I might be convinced that he is capable of hanging with the Floydyeah but cassamayor isn't on mayweather's level as far as overall skills go. juan diaz would be outclasses havily fighting floyd, plus juan showed some good speed but in the pocket against floyd, especially at 135 where mayweather was faster than he is now, floyd would have tore diaz up.
Well Wiley said that Hatton is gonna apply the same type of pressure as Juan did and I'm saying Hatton doesn't fight like Juan. When Juan is up close he bangs to the body or does his quick combination to the head.
What Hatton does is clinch and clinch some more. See Hatton/Urango for examples. He had a come forward fighter in front of him and he clinched his way to victory.
As far as Casamayor being done. I don't buy that, let them fight and I bet you it will be the toughest fight of Juan's career. He will probably escape by some kind of decision but I guarantee that fight will be close.
Agreed, hatton throws less and throws less efficently. However, when he (once in a blue moon, when hes not wrestling) lands, he lands with some thunder. Juan Diaz's punches look good but are not designed to hurt the oppenent. And when talking about beating floyd.. if you can't hurt him, than forget about it, you feel?
I dunno about Casa to be honest.. He was missing his step last year on ESPN fight nights. And his last fight against a worn out rapidly declining fighter that was struggling to make weight (R.I.P) , was far from impressive.. But than again he always has a boxers chance since Juan Diaz has never fought a slick soutpaw such as Casa.

Agree with you for the most part.. But Casa has not been the same since he suffered that loss to Castillo a few years back. Diaz is way too fresh for him. You're right though he should clean his division up. Not too sure about you're comparison with Hatton..

Maybe except the Baby Bull doesn't clinch every 5 seconds like Hatton does. He also isn't as explosive with his punches as Diaz.
I say forget about looking for opponents out of your weight class.

Casa's getting a little long in the tooth isn't he?
Exactly. that is the style that can beat mayweather. non stop relentless pressure.

Is that how you see the Hatton - Mayweather fight? It seems to me that Hatton is going to employ some of that Baby Bull type of pressure.

thats a hard one. if diaz gives floyd his room to box, then its a typical mayweather boxing clinic. but if diaz is relentless and brings his volume pressure, then diaz would edge it out. if i had to choose, i would pick floyd by split descision.
