I understand that, but it was Castillo who pushed the action and was the aggresor. It was Castillo who landed the harder shots throughout the fight. It was Castillo who landed at a higher percentage throughout the majority of the fight. Castillo was the champion and dominated the majority of the fight. So given all that, how in the world does Floyd win a MAJORITY DECISION???
It was a close fight and I remember scoring it a draw, twice (I've only seen the fight twice and it's been at least 3-4 years since the last time). I don't remember what rounds went to whom, but I do remember Floyd winning most of the early rounds and Castillo winning most of the late rounds.
Do u agree that Castillo outpunched and outlanded Floyd for the majority of the rounds?
Maybe, but it was all in the second half, after he had already lost most of the rounds in the first half.
even though i think castillo won the fight..........punchstats mean jack as they are for the whole fight...........in case you all forgot, boxing is scored round by round!...meaning, you can kick ass in 2 rounds, and then have a close remaining 3 rounds..and lose, yes LOSE - 3 rounds to 2.

Are you serious? I was taking everyone else with a grain of salt until I read your post. You always seemed like a guy who knew boxing but I guess not.
Why do I say this? Because anyone who knows boxing knows that you score each round individually, on a 10-point must system. So, you can throw 100 punches and land 40 punches more than your opponent but still win a round 10-9. Then, in the following round, your opponent can throw 10 punches less and connect 2 punches more and win the round 10-9. You are now even in points but the punchstat numbers would indicate you're winning BIG time.
That's why punchstat numbers are not important and, as a matter of fact, do more harm than good.

the punch stat numbers aren`t always right in a 10 point system thats correct. But if you watch the fight again, Castillo outlands Mayweather in 8 of the 12 rounds.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
FINALLY, INDISPUTABLE EVIDENCE!!!!!!!
I cannot believe nobody watched the telecast long enough to see the punch stats until just now, GREAT work man, u have to be the first one to have done this.
Thinkin on ur feet as usual

you should flip it around and hit yourself....the original poster posted "proof" that Pretty boy Floyd LOST...because he threw less and landed less than Castillio....yet after the Punisher punished The Strawberry Margarita for an entire fight there was a HUGE uproar from the wonderfully tasty drink's nuthuggers that he still won the fight....according to this "proof" they were all wrong, and The frozen beverage himself was wrong for saying he beat Williams....
don't make me dig up the thread and see if any of the people here posted in that thread that Margarito won....
I wouldn't say robbery... Punch stats don't always "tell the tape". It was Very close fight & depending on what you're looking for you can score this fight either way. I watched this fight several times & never came up w/ the same exact score but everytime it was either a Castillo win by a point or 2 or a Draw. IMO Floyd did not do enough to win that fight & "take the belt away from the champ", & I'm one of the biggest PBF fans there is! I have to agree that the score cards where pure Bull-Sh!t! Castillo won way more than 3 or 4rds like they say he did! Either way, Whether Floyd was hurt or underesimated Castillo, he let Jose outhustle him plain & simple!
fuck that. who is that in you avatar? some porn bitch?
to anyone in this thread...one question...did The Strawberry Margarita beat Paul Williams?....if your answer to this question is yes...than these stats prove nothing....
But are those punch stats accurate??
I'm pretty sure those were the HBO punchstats given.
It's tough to base a fight off of punch stats alone though.
Hopkins outlanded Taylor in their first fight (almost all in the last 4 rounds)
Tarver outlanded Jones Jr. in their first fight (even though Jones clearly won 7 rounds)
It's also tough to say what a "landed punch" is. A partially blocked punch might be landed, we will never know... but regardless, there are only 2 categories, landed and missed. Therefore, a partially blocked punch counts as much as a flush punch in punchstats.
I like the punchstats, but they definately are not as useful as they should be on how to score a fight.
Fight scoring needs to be changed, definately.
Cheyeah Floyd woop dat ass in tha rematch 2.
LOL!
Check round 5 of there second fight! LOL! (see Mayweather complain that Castillo is being too ruff in a fight, lol!)
Check the punchstats.
Castillo / Mayweather
203 landed 157
506 thrown 448
40% percentage 35%
POWER PUNCHES
Castillo / Mayweather
173 landed 66
377 thrown 151
46% percentage 44%
Holy shit! Is this true??
I think Castillo may have been robbed indeed.
Great post!
Who is to say that who is right and who is wrong? Those who watched the fight!
Hell I was a Tito fan but I wont dispute that DLH threw more than him.
I am a PacFan but I do think that MAB threw more than the punchstats suggest.
Not a fan of JT or Hop but Im quite sure the former threw more.
Not of a fan of JLC or Cas but I agree with the punchstats.
Its easy to tell who threw more punches, but landing punches, clean punches, not partially blocked punches, is difficult to tell in full speed.
What im saying is that biased people claim punchstat is innefective in one case to help prove their point and effective in another case.
It doesnt go both ways.
I thought it was clear in Floyd v DLH that Floyd landed more clean punches than DLH but Oscar threw more.
In Floyd Castillo I think Castillo threw far more and landed at a less accurate rate, and that the punchstat numbers are innacurate because Floyd blocked and partially blocked tons of JLC's punches even though it did not seem like he did in live action.
Well nobody disputes the fact that you hang on Floyd's nuts.
Is that your favorite comeback line. That shit is getting old HATER. Get back and brainstorm a new comeback line.
I bet you're just a "KEYBOARD SOLDIER" why dont you go fight somebody and quit hating all the time you nothing ass lil boy.
Why not? Can't the punchstats be correct in one fight and wrong in the other? If you come to think about it, that is very possible.
But whos to say they were right in the DLH fight and wrong in the Castillo fight?
Its just biased fans making biased, innacurate assumptions.
tell that to the floyd nuthuggers crowing about his clearly inflated punchstats vs oscar. I agree though.
But Castillo's punchstat numbers are accurate.
biased.:nonono:
Anyone who does not score this fight in favour of Castillo does not know hwo to score fights.
he outworked Floyd
he outlanded Floyd
he landed the sharper shots
and he was on the offensive more
...how the hell didn't he win the fight?
Exactly! How the judges scored it unanimously for Floyd is fucking beyond me.
