:boxing: Mayweather has made it clear. It'll be a toe to toe battle. We know we've heard this before, but (Oscar was the much Bigger fighter and puncher). Understand this my fellow boxing "CRITICS". For the style of fight Hatton brings, mayweather will stay in the pocket and punish him. Hatton fans will be banking on his relentless pressure. One thing for sure Hatton is no De La Hoya (He lacks the offensive tools to keep floyd on the defensive) and they are pretty even, as far as weight (Hatton usually comes in at 147, and Mayweather 148).
:boxing: Had Castillo been stopped the way he did? Did Kosta ever get done they way Hatton done him?:boxing:
Had Castillo ever had that shitty of balance? Had he ever been that shot?
Tszyu wasn't shot, Vince Phillips did the same thing to Kostya.
Keep in mind this fight is against a guy who just absorbed the blows of a guy 14 pounds north of what Hatton is used to.
Hatton can't hit harder than DLH. Hatton also isn't as skillful as DLH, so he is going to have a harder time putting leather to Floyd than Oscar did.
floyd is not strong enough to knock Hatton out, Ricky is strong enough to knock Floyd out. Floyd is not going toe to toe, he would have to be an idiot to do so
i tend to agree with that
How do you know Hatton is strong enough? Has anyone ever knocked Floyd out? Who says his chin isn't Carlos Baldomir caliber?
:boxing: Had Castillo been stopped the way he did? Did Kosta ever get done they way Hatton done him?:boxing:
it's toe to toe but obviously they aren't use to it because they cover up a lot and wait 1 or 2 seconds. hatton will pound him on and on if he can. just wtahc if hatton is allwoed to fight close up then floyld will resort to jabbing from far.
You do know that you can go toe to toe and still make a person miss. That doesn't mean you aren't used to going to toe to toe it just means if you can avoid a punch while in close quarters that is what you are going to do. There is more than one style when fighting toe to toe. Some like to just slug it out without any defense. Some will slip all the punches they can while throwing all the punches they can. Both are still going toe to toe.
In saying that my question to you is if PBF is making Hatton miss in close while countering his shots why would he resort to jabbing from a far? Unless the shots that Hatton does land are affecting him that much which I doubt but you never know.
I have a feeling that this fight will be more action packed than his fight with DLH. Reason being is that floyd will technically be the bigger man so he shouldn't be as reluctant to engage. Hes still gonna play it safe but i sense he will have a bigger punch output in this fight.
WATCH THIS CLIP.
WHAT WERE YOU SAYING!

Floyds power will go up in this because Hatton will walk jump hop onto Floyds punches then you have the effect of a head on collision which increases the impact , I dont think Floyd will KO him but its possible but Floyds brittle hands generally stops him from loading right up , a TKO is very possible as Floyd will land cleanly all night and Ricky will start falling apart by the 6th ,,, we know Hatton is a good body puncher but dont be surprised if Floyd has a lot of success to the body , toe to toe , it will have moments but really who cares , Floyd will win this because he is so much more skilled and is always in fantastic shape , he never tires , people say Ricky is relentless pressure , I think your going to see Hatton hanging on for survival in the last quarter .
Well said.
Toe to toe? Not a chance. Why would Floyd give Ricky his only chance of winning? IF Floyd is able to pot shot RH for about 10 rounds then maybe he will stand in the pocket and bomb away to try and finish him off, but otherwise I dont see it.
So Oscar is slightly taller....
90% of Hatton's opponents are taller than him.
Hell even Floyd is taller than Hatton.
WTF? Oscar was taller and probably outweighed Floyd by 20lbs. Hatton stepped up in weight and was getting hurt by a feather fisted fighter named Collazo.
I have to agree on this. So far, Floyd has maintained fit while inactive.
He's aware it's much harder to whip himself back into shape after slacking off from training for a few months. So, he's inspired to work out at all hours of the day and night to maintain that edge.
Dancing is just another form of fitness training, especially if you treat it as such.
The dancing should, in fact, add to his footwork and coordination, not to mention his stamina, rather than diminish it. Similar to playing a different sport during off time.
Just how I see it.
As far as going toe to toe, a smart fighter needs to determine when to go toe to toe, and when to box at a distance, so as to conserve energy and be cautious.
Only an ignorant fighter would go toe to toe with Ricky right off the bat knowing the risk involved.
I'm sure there'll be some toe to toe action throughout the fight, just not as much as we would all like to see.
All in all, they should both put on a great performance to give the fans, especially the paying ones, they're money's worth.:boxing:
I agree. Good post
What alot of you don't understand is that even if PBF made it to the finals of Dancing with the Stars he would still have a little under a month to train. The reality of it is longer training camps are to get rust off, timing down and to get into shape (losing weight). PBF stays in great shape so he doesn't have ring rust or have to worry about getting his timing down by sparring a bunch of rounds. Really all PBF has to do work on his game plan for the Hatton fight.

If Hatton stays on top of Mayweather it may look like what Castillo was doing to Floyd in there second fight round 5.
noooooo. Hatton lacks the technical skills of Castillo
I think floyd is going to prove a lot of people wrong this time around. remember his last few outings were against opponents that were "Naturally" and "Physically" bigger than him. with DLH, Mayweather was "actually" 20lbs lighter. The difference with Hatton is the fact that there is no "clear cut" physically advantage whatsoever. With Baldomir, and DLH it would have been foolish to take senseless risks. I believe you are going to see more offense from Mayweather. Remember where you heard this.
I'll remember. And, I disagree that "there's no clear cut difference between Hatton and Floyd physically."
Floyd has height and reach advantage, but after that Hatton's the bigger, stronger man. You will see this on Dec. 8 no matter who wins.
I dont get where all this talk of Hatton not having the qualities to keep Floyd on the backfoot comes from. Steptwome, you say that Hatton doesnt have that ability and yet Oscar does but I dont seem to remember Oscar doing any of that to Floyd in their fight. Oscar would force him back with the jab but then fail to throw anything of note. IMO, thats what cost him the fight. Had he unloaded on Floyd he may very well have taken the decision or even possibly stopped Floyd.
Everyone knows that Hatton is best when fighting on the inside (ask Tszyu or Castillo), so if the fight is up close and toe to toe then Floyd will be in trouble.
I cant see Floyd wanting to go anywhere near Hatton and simply trying to stay away and use his speed to box him from the outside.
Agreed.............see Addison's clips in his thread "wrestling" for great examples of why Hatton has a real shot here.
After watching JT go down in a glorious blaze of fists and fighting like a warrior, the poon-tang Mayweather better step up to the plate and make for a good fight. I myself, promised to never, evvvveerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr buy another Mayweater PPV instead (it's like throwing my money away) so I will catch this one at the bar.
Will Floyd come out more aggressively against Hatton whose coming up from 140? Will he use ALL THAT TALENT in an exciting way and actually entertain with some freaking balls? Or will Floyd do what he's done for the last 2 years and pot-shot and run his way to another boring-ass UD?
But who am I fucking kidding here? Floyd ain't going to do none of this shit. Floyd says all this shit, but he's gonna go in there and prance his way around the ring like a ballerina and basically dance away with all you fools' money. I'd bet my left testes satchel that he is going to sucker all of you once again. Not even the game's premier brawler in Hatton will entice Floyd to be a man.
Floyd, be like JT....he took his beating like a man and even in defeat, people respect him more than you who has never lost yet. Fight the good fight Floyd, or you will always be remembered as a pussy/businessman fighter like Roy Jones.

I've tried to explain that, but people keep saying that he is a one-trick pony who just runs. They also swear that they have watched his fights at 140. :nonono:
Yes indeed. Some peple just don't see it
