I reckon its either Carl Froch (#1 WBC) or Denis Inkin (#1 WBO) - unless Joe moves up rather than take the WBC strap.
They are both a handful..
Denis Inkin and Froch fought in the amateurs - Inkin was the reigning Russian army champion whilst Froch was a boy - whilst the Cobra lost a thin decision he did drop Inkin heavily at the final bell.
Carl Froch v Henry Porras Fight here
A rarely seen Froch fight against Henry Porras in Hollywood a couple of years ago, on a Golden Boy latino card. Froch breaks his hand in the 2nd round.
Kessler wins : He fights Mudnine in Copenhagen for a big purse. He has to fight him next year if he beats Calzaghe anyway, Mandatory.
No way..
Palle got a four fight forehand deal from HBO (which he rejected because he believes Kessler will win and the offer will be much better from Nov. 4, and to keep Kessler focused on this fight only.), when Warren declared the fight on. I can’t imagine them buying the Kessler - Calzaghe without having a plan for the winner.
Even giving up the wba title will make sense, if he's offered the whole Las Vegas dream he wants so bad..
How does the wbo rules work? Isn’t Taylor to become both mandatory wbc AND wbo challenger if he moves up (defeating Pavlik)?
The winner of the fight should than fight either the ring LWH champion or the ring MW champion, Hopkins or Taylor nothing else. Actually, I think Kessler would fight RJJ if he won, since they were going to fight before Cal came in.
If Taylor moves up, HE is mandatory... If he wins against Pavlik that is.
RJJ was just a negotiation twist from Palle. Not a promise that would make Kessler turn down Hopkins or Taylor, that’s for sure..
Prior to this fight, one or both camps were talking to Inkin, Mundine, RJJ, Taylor, Froch and many more.
Not to start an argument on whether it should happen or not, but Roy Jones will get the winner,he'll beat tito fairly easily and call out the winner, Bhop will price himself outand taylor will go after another (easier)SM first time out - maybe Mundine for the WBA strap so he will have more to bring to the table after a win at SM
I thought the winner of Yusaf Mack vs. Librado Andrade (on the MAB-Pac undercard) got the Calzaghe-Kessler winner.
What would their claim be? WBC mandatory?
Can't see either Kessler or Calzaghe having much interest in taking that fight. Think they're both more likely to drop the belt than waste time on that fight.
If it has to be a mandatory, Mundine is more interesting, provided he recovers from his eye-trouble.
In either case it won't satisfy the fans OR HBO. They'll be looking for something bigger - never mind the belts.

WTF????
Froch is OLDER than Inkin. So if Froch was a boy - What was Inkin?
Elite Dumbass. Youve forgot to takeyour medication again.
You are a challenged induvidual.
Froch has devastating punch are you blind? or just stupid?
Kaygay :fuckyou:
Elite solider, do you box mate?
Froch can crack with speed.
Look at this uppercut - blistering...
This is a belting punch...only his 2nd pro fight.
Both Calzaghe and Kessler look like the flash compared to Froch. Froch is not even close to being as fast. Froch looks like a turtle compared to Calzaghe and Kessler.
Froch should shut the fuck up and fight Lucian Bute. I pick Bute to kick the ever living shit out of Froch for 12 rounds.
Froch is slow and a boring fighter to watch.
Even with his knockouts, he's boring. Wow, look at him barely throwing any punches and just trying to look for the knockout all the time. And look how slow he is. Wow, he can beat bums. If he stepped up his opponents, he'd get the shit kicked out of him.
who or what has this fucker froch fought..? tatesovoyannfnsk?? tell him to fight a top 15 fighter before running his mouth.
why the fuck would kessler or joe, whoever wins, fight him, he is nothing on the world stage..
the winner of the almighty viking and the happy slapper, should only chase the biggest and best, preferably one of the bigger american names.!
hopkins after his useless win over winky..
my personal favorite and hope, we get a undisputed smw champ vs the undisputed mw champ
and last but not least, try to get dawson in the ring, if he beats diaconu..
should these not be able, then bute would be a good option, as he holds the ibf..
others can get in line, and hope the will get a chance, if the winner wants an easy warm up, before going all in..
Thing is though, the UK public feel that Froch would do a number on Calzaghe or Kessler.
thats not really true, froch fans reckon he can take joe but thats about it.
I'm sure froch/cazlaghe would be great, but he'll clearly go hopkins, especially after recent comments
froch should definitely fight a top 10 fighter before being allowed near kessler or calzaghe, but for whatever reason he is ranked top 5 by everyone except the WBA.
1st priority: Hopkins, Taylor. #1 in their division, no further arguments needed.
Bute is chasing down Berrio for the IBF belt. I imagine he could be the last big unification fight for Kessler late 2008 if he wins, Calzaghe might stay at 168 to fight Taylor (who moves up after fighting Pavlik), but then it's off to LHW.
Froch isn't doing anything to make himself worth the effort. But if Kessler wins in Cardif, they might be able to generate enough cash to make it happen.
The rematch could also happen. A close fight, injury or something.. i hope it won't be needed ;)
If Kessler loses, then Froch could get him. But if Kessler wins, he'll get the big fights too.

Do the "UK public" feel that way? Maybe your odd ignorant Nottingham homer does, we got a few of those here too. But Froch can't demand the fight from Joe, the boy is not worth Joe's time at this stage.
