now let's read some nonhateful posts, so the true posters like myself can respond with respectable arguments, not like hearns would kill floyd, or floyd wouldn't fight hearns, or whatever else. let's read some real reasons as to why floyd would win or lose against tommy, because for some of you to claim hearns would outbox floyd makes me laugh, floyd would be faster, better defensive, better footwork, hearns would be powerful and tenative and bigger, but floyd is more polished and a smarter fighter than hearns was in his prime. tommy had a lethal right hand but floyd is a defensive genius. this fight is a tossup and i really don't know who would win, but i do know that skillwise, mayweather jr was better and i believe his prime was at 140 pounds, not 147. yeah go read my post for that, those 3 meters of disadvantage and Floyd not being a welter won't help him much against Hearns. And this agreeing that Mayweather is better than Tommy in pretty much everything, that does not involve power and size. This fight would not be a tossup for nothing on earth. Floyd is a lightweight, the greatest lightweight of all time was KOd in 2 by Hearns. I am a strong believer that styles make fights, and as you said Floyd is a defensive genius, so he will make the distance.

Tommy by ko and not a doubt in my mind he was crazy fast with that jab of his and his right hand was a wrecking ball

Hearns takes this. Mayweather would not be able to hurt him. He would be able to roll with Hearns' right enough to make the distance, but that's it. I mean... Hearns would just need to throw a lot of 1-2s, it's up to Floyd to try and win some rounds and get KOed, or just make the distance. The only fight that would change my mind would be Williams: if it happened and Mayweather looks like the range does not bother him at all (which I think is impossible), then I would give him a chance. EDIT: a very small chance

Hearns was underrated. he had some of the best boxing skills i have ever seen.on topic, I would pick hearns by unanimous decision. he was a recking ball at welterweight. and Floyd does not fight people he do think he can beat. He wouldn't even fight Tommy Hearns. and the size advantages Tommy would have would be crazy. :boxing:

I'm just wondering who would win if they fought at welter weight if both in there prime. I think hearns would win as he is so big and cause floyd is much smaller he'd have to step in thus putting him in range of that lethal right hand.
