2 of my all time favourites, really hard to pick one but I went for Barrera, just because i saw him first. Both have given us some top top quality wars, 2 absolute legends.
I've never seen him hurt. What is this based off?
Getting dropped and holding on for dear life against a non-puncher in Rocha according to Ryan Songalia.
I can't find this fight though... I think it's the only one that was televised that I don't have at this point.
Disagree, but I'm probably biased, and I can't even score correctly when I'm neutral, so...
Yeah, Dirrell looks like the real deal man. I've heard he has some major chin issues though. I hope those reports were wrong.

Nah, thanks though- Hitman hit me up with them. That first round was crazy. Lol.. Dirrell looked like Ray Leonard when he had Oganov on the ropes..
BTW- Winky-Taylor was for Winky, imo.. But he lost the Vargas fight bro..

It's my favorite fight of all-time.
It might have been Barrera-Morales II, but the decision kind of ruined that one for me.
Just like Taylor or Vargas both could have been my favorite fight for Winky Wright had the decisions gone his way.
You still need Dirrell-Oganov Kayslay?

Morales personifies the soul of Mexican boxing.. Everytime I watch round 12 of Morales-Pacquiao, I get goosebumps. No lie.

I think you probably have to rate Barrera a tad higher but a close look at their resumes suggests Barrera might've had the names but Morales fought tougher guys at certain times.
In my lifetime i have only met 1 mexican that liked mab more then erik...Erik was a ****en badass...Also he had never been dropped for years even if he was outmatched he was man enough to step forward...Unlike fighters like manny who will throw there hands in the air and never trade just hit and move. Erik would never ever back down you may call it dumb but he would get it done
Erick morales he is what every fighter should be....Great skill and crazy heart....My all time favorite mexican fighter and probably my favorite fighter of my life time....Just watch his last fight were he was in his prime and whooped on manny and was man enough to turn southpaw...There may never be another erik
Almost too close to call.
It is wierd actually. Overall I would say I got behind Erik more in his fights but when the two fought I was pulling for MAB.
I probably already posted in this thread but for me it's Erik Morales! He's my third favorite ever behind Whitaker and Toney (not far behind at all though). He was the epitome of a prize fighter. Great skills, tons of heart and charisma. He gave the fans what they wanted.
i chose barrera, ive always liked him better than morales.
on a side note, anybody else think that erik looks alittle bit like kafka

a little bit??
dude, kafka probably ****ed a mexican from tijuana....
Question: How hard was Barrera fighting in the last 6 rounds against Pacquiao in the rematch?
It looked to me like he had surrendered already, which is basically a glorified version of quitting.
my thoughts exactly , i think he just wanted to show he could last the fight
i'm Mexican and Morales is my all time favorite, but at least when Morales is being "mean" he's real about it ,i know he's arrogant but he does too, barrerra hides his dooshyness
Fair question...the answer was not hard at all...but he didn't quit...you may say it's a glorified version of quitting and that's your opinion so that's cool but he never actually sat there and quit....which he could have...but didn't...
Now let me clarify this and my other posts. I like Erik...when he and Barrera had their wars I was actually cheering for Erik to win...I just dissagre with and was extremely dissapointed with the way we chose to go out in that fight vs Pac...:nonono:
My take on how they fought:
Morales - Try or die. He tried, but couldn't get it done... and realized that he was done. He had already spent a lot of energy and was getting battered.
Barrera - Survive and thrive. Except the thriving never happened, so he just stayed back and survived.
I think you can make the argument that Barrera quit before Morales, but I guess it depends on how much value you place on literal quitting vs. figurative quitting.
