If Cotto beats the Margarito vs. Williams winner is this a fight the public would like to see? Who would win or has the better chance of winning this fight if it were made?
Club fighters don't destroy Cintron and beat Clottey.
Margarito is not great, but let's not go crazy with the insults.
Margarito is a far better fighter than he has been given credit for as of late. Margarito came off a 1 year layoff with a badly sprained ankle and still beat a Clottey that really look like he brought his A game. I know Clottey hurt his hands in that fight but I also believe that MArgarito hurt a hand. That said the circumstances and the fact that Clottey is the wrong guy to use as a measuring stick (super huge welterweight, i think he is done at this weight) probably negates most observations from this fight that people have stated. I too thought he looked slow, was stationary and too easily hit and could never really hurt Clottey. But there were legit reasons for this lackluster performance.

clottey is a good fighter, maragarito is a good fighter, the same way baldomir is a good fighter.
everyone knows he's a clean fighter? i bet you couldnt keep a straight face when writing that
he seemed pretty clean in all the cotto fights ive seen.....
Cotto beats Clottey... Margarito was exposed by Clottey, it does not make Clottey a world class fighter. Margarito is a professional loser with 4 losses. He knows how to lose nicely. Let's stop acting like Margarito is anything but an overrated club fighter. Spider-Rico from Rocky I is a better fighter than Margarito.
Anyone who actually watches boxing, KNOWS that Cotto is a clean fighter. Only the little hmos that think Judah is a cute think Cotto tried to hurt his kock. Watch the fight again... Cotto was NEVER hurt. Caught by quick BS shots? yes..but NEVER going down. Also, note Judah's low blows and HEAD BUTTS all night long. Bitches. Satori, your mutha has a mustache.
yay this guy can look at a record and see 4 losses.....yay
4 losses does not make you a bum especially when 3 of his 4 were under the age of 20
bernard hopkins lost his first bout....does that even really count?
to dumasses like you it does because its a loss on his record.....
Cotto takes it on points for me, Clotteys tough and his D is tight so i see it goin the full distance but Cotto is the only winner here and i Do rate Clottey but Cotto is a notch up from him now. Clottey would be standing blocking alot of shots but miguel would be wearing him down slowly but surely
Once he got adjusted to Judah's power obviously. Judah stopped throwing punches because he was being mauled and punched...a lot.
Look at every round past the third. Hell look at the seventh. Judah tees off on Cottos head around the 1 minute mark and Cotto just takes it. Judah hit him repeatedly with the left hand and Cotto shook it off after the early rounds.
Clottey ain't gonna hit Cotto with anything new. Is Clottey a deadly finisher now? I have seen Josh fight 3 times now and I fail to see what gives him a decisive edge over Miguel Cotto. I mean really, Clottey has been spectacular when beating a shot Diego Corrales...he was spectacular against an inactive Antonio Margarito for four rounds...
When he fought a younger guy who could stay with him he struggled. Is it just a feeling you have about Clottey? He hasn't done much to show that he's better than Cotto.
True, plus Margarito is a slow starter and Clottey tends to fade late in fights. Didn't Abdullaev beat him in every round until Clottey dropped him to a knee and Abdullaev missed the count because he couldn't understand it or something? Clottey is a good fighter no doubt, but getting into a shell in that peek a boo deffense and allowing Cotto to hit him with hooks is not a good idea. BTW saying Clottey doesn't come close to Zab in boxing ability or power.
Margarito beat Clottey, and not to make excuses but Margarito was coming off a long layoff before they fought. So your saying that since Margarito didnt KO Clottey then Cotto will loose by late stoppage becuase Clottey is a better boxer?...lol...ok if you say so.
Because he isnt..lol..Clottey is good but Cotto is better, I really dont see what Clottey brings to the table that will give Cotto any serious trouble, hell he fought Zab, I didnt think he would beat Zab to be honest.
Once he got adjusted? Adjusted to Judah NOT throwing punches?
Name one fighter in Cottos last five that likes to stand and bamg? Ever since getting dropped by Torres and almost out his team has smartly put him in against guys on the move alot. You cant deny that facts.
Judah WAS hurting Cotto. Look @ that 1st right uppercut.

Judah can bang.
Yes he can but hesa mover...he doesnt hold his ground.
He does have the fastest hands in the division and can more than crak a egg...thats not what I'm getting @ though.
Judah was hurting Cotto yes, but Judah didnt stop throwing for no reason. When you throw punches your living yourself open. You dont think that Cottos pressure and punches didnt have an affect on Judah throwing punches?..Judahs hand speed is crazy fast, he was beating PBF to the punch for the 1st half of the fight and his power is very good as well, He would of rocked anyone with those shots, he rocked PBF when they fought, he almost knocked Tszyu through the ropes when they fought, Judah can bang.
Cotto ate every punch Judah hit him with after the first few rounds with little effect. Once he got adjusted Judah was dead in the water.
Standing man up with Cotto is not a good idea.

Well this is looking way past the present, this is if Cotto makes it past Williams/Margarito which both guys will be tough guys for Cotto, I think Cotto can beat both of them but still its like 60/40 in favor of Cotto, its not like he will run over these guys, and if he beats either of these guys im sure he can beat Joshua, I personaly think Williams and Margarito are better than Joshua, Joshua is good but he like someone said on this post he like to cover up and not throw, he like to take breaks, you cant do that with Cotto becusae Cotto keeps pressing the action and cutting of the ring and forces you to fight, sure he has great hand speed but his hands and power arent as good as Judahs(in reference to Joshuas hand speed)
i actually think cotto pressing the action is what would get cotto in trouble vs clottey because clottey is an excellent counter puncher thats what he does
and his power is as good as judahs and his defense is better
the guys power is better than cotto's
clottey is a beast welter he weighs in at 170 on fight night
The second they put Cotto in w/someone that can stand there and bang and not run its lights out for Cotto. He'll be like how Judah is now, career wise.
That uppercut from Judah had Cotto reeling. Everytime Judah landed you could see a big effect on Cotto.
Clottey TKO 7. Provided he doesnt break his hand. He throws hard-quick-short combos and has a monster physique...tough enough I think to take Cottos body shots.
After the Judah fight I'm convinced hes got a bum chin.

only way cotto can win fights is by low blowing right? well clottey is the master of illegal warfare. even cotto has to tip his cap to the master and then lose by ko
So masterful that he was disqualified for unsportsmanly tactics against poor, poor Carlos Baldomir :P.
I think Cotto would take this, but it could be close.
