"Hatton" Now give the guy some respect!!

The jealousy and hate for Hatton from some people is unbelievable. These people are poor sports who refuse to give Hatton credit for his win. If he fights and beats Mayweather now, they'll say Mayweather was shot or got paid off. Why don't they have the capacity be fair about Ricky? Why does their hatred run so deep? Bitterness and envy thats why mate.

People hate. Last time I checked, boxing was about beating your opponent. Hatton beat one of the best in the game, and did it in a manner that very few predicted and no-one else has ever managed including most people's P4P #1 .... twice.

Ricky is a good fighter but against Cotto and Mosley? Might be a step too far at this stage. Mind you, if he is to get some respect, he has to fight guys of that calibre (including PBF if Floyd wants it!). There's the rub fella's, at this stage of the game Ricky is the newbie (relatively speaking), the other guys will only want to do it if the price is right and the price WILL have to be right for the bigger name guys. The comer, in this case Hatton, generally has less cards to play when it comes to haggling for prize money.

I give Hatton the respect that he had the right people in place to convince Castillo to throw the fight, probably for some of the proceeds from a Hatton/Mayweather, Hatton/Cotto, or etc., as well as forgiving his present debt and lawsuit. I hope they pay off, as Castillo is ruined..... It is pretty serious allegations you guys are throwing at Castillo, suggesting that he throwed the fight. Rumours spread fast you know. I don't get how someone could even accuse Castillo for taking a dive, no matter how the fight ended. This is the same Castillo who gave us the greatest fight of this century. No wonder boxing struggles with a "fan"-base like you guys...

Hatton was undoubtedly far stronger and fitter than Castillo. Jose didnt do anything. He was awful in his last fight and even worse here. He is washed up. Hatton needs to fight someone in their prime for once in his life. If Ricky doesnt fight Cotto or Mayweather next I will never respect him again. He is a great fighter, one of the best, but cashing in against past-their-prime fighters is getting real old. Maybe he will fight Ray Leonard next?

Dlh would ko Hatton and Castillo looked slow as shit so there is no way to judge how he will do against PBF. (shot to peices) I think Hatton is good but Castillo was no where close to the fighter he used to be and the weight hurt him with out a doubt (it had to). Any i think Hatton would have his moments but PBF is far better then anyone Hatton has faced. Zoo is very good but tailor made for Hatton he cant handle being pushed back, PBF is a very good infighter altought lately u couldnt tell. Also he is a lighting quick counter puncher. Look I give Hatton his due respect but when you guys come in here saying he would destroy FLoyd or say FLoyd is a runner but Hatton holds the whole time it gets a little old. Floyd thrives on guys who try to bully thier way in just look at his whole career. You opinion is Hatton wins my opinion is Floyd wins so we agree to disagree. Do you think in the Mayweather DLH fight that Mayweather won?? Well I had it as DLH fight..If DLH was A bit stronger he would have defs took the fight..Now Hatton will take DLH out would he not? Yes...I tip it cuz he won by body blow KO. No I dont support dirt...but I am the kinda guy that will give the guy a nod on the win. He fought dirty but not THAT dirty. No headbutts, eblow smashes, nut shots, etc. This is a big improvement for Ricky and I noticed it so hence the props. Damed if you do and damed if ya dont. You Brits are never happy. Am I to take it that you think Hatton is usually a dirty fighter? Well, if you are referring to the Tszyu fight where he inflicted a low blow on the guy, then you might want to consider the succession of low blows dished out by Kostya before Hatton retaliated. Unfortunately Hatton seems to have developed a reputation on American forums as a dirty fighter. Hattons style dictactes that he is a figther that does the majority of work on the inside, up close and personal. Some of it is bound to look a little scrappy. But in reality, its quite methodical and planned. When fighters fight the way Hatton does, there tends to be clashes of heads, the odd low blow simply because there is not alot of room to manouvre. His dismatlement of Castillo last night was textbook Hatton, from the pre Tszyu era, something that American fans havent seen much of. He was much more focused, working predominantly on the body shots before figuring out the best way to take his man down. I have seen him do it to countless others, before his HBO days. Hatton just needs some time to settle into America. It was only his third fight in the States and I think nerves maybe played a part in his lax performances leading into the Castillo fight. Give it time mate, i'm sure you'll end up liking him in the end!!:boxing:

No Hatton is the best real fighter out there...Its a fact he will go toe to toe with any boxer its the same with Joe Calzaghe!! these guys are what the sport is about a dust up not not run and hit like gayweather.. Typeone, i think you are being a tad biased mate. Dont get me wrong, i'm a massive fan of Hatton, but stating that he will go toe to toe with any fighter is just utter rubbish. Against Urango he did anything but go toe to toe, instead opting to box from the outside and rarely engage him in a brawl. He did this simply because he knew that Urango was physically stronger. He knew he could instead beat Urango by boxing clever, which is exactly what he did. Hats off to Hatton against Castillo though. He did a fantastic job on him and surpassed most fans expectations of him. Ricky will get a new HBO deal for sure and hopefully some quality fights in the near future!

Hatton won the best way possible...a TKO via the body. I thought the ref was shit and Hatton still fought dirty...but he won the best way possible...props to Hatton. I tip my hat to Ricky...good win.

Some of the American fighters over time have a great following in Britain as they are good fighters and thats what its all about..But when the shoe is on the other foot you guys dont wont to know...So yea lets attack Guys like Mayweather yea hes a good Runner hands down but what does he bring to the ring nothing he just takes it out a big bag of money.. Hatton is a good fighter but he wouldn't beat Floyd. They're not even in the same weightclass lol. Hatton would need to move up. Hatton is a biter though. He wore the sombrero just like Floyd. And he could have had better entrance music it was real soft. I think he may be the second best fighter at 140. I don't see Hatton beating Malignaggi.
