That's the most impressive knockout in the history of boxing.
Hatton stops Castillo with a body shot.

Castillo wanst getting whoop!!! HAtton was doing the hit hug combo he did look stronger though. Castillo didnt get paid for the fight I woudnt get up myself
It's not Hatton's fault Castillo is faded. It was a good fight on paper beforehand, and Hatton just whooped the shit out of him. Simple as that. Knocked out by a body shot. Wow, Castillo. Not what I expected at all out of him.
shut the fuck up that bullsit wasnt impressive. why does the fucking ref allow hatton to hold so fucking much. all he does is bulldog and hold his opponents arms then hits him. BULLSHIT!
Sounds like you are talking about ALI VS Frazier

you feking tripping or what...I think Castillo was doing just as much if not more! Watch the fight again......
OK, this seems like the best thread to post in since there are some of the more reasonable guys (and gals) on here.
Hatton's win last night cements him as a p4p fighter, although it wasn't as stunning as it could have been since Castillo looked quite faded. Having said that, the work Hatton did, on the inside as well (despite all the shit about holding on here) was very crisp and he's rediscovered his power punching after looking a bit light-handed in his last two fights.
So the way I see it, he gets the same amount of credit for this win as he would have for a hard fought decision against a better Castillo. Sure he faced a worse version of Castillo, but the manner of victory made up for that. Read RWK thread, he's got it spot on.
I was disappointed that Castillo didn't try to continue, but he was getting hit and hit hard in the 4th round, I doubt he would have taken much more.
I think Hatton would have a chance against Cotto, but he'd probably lose. That is the fight I'd want to see, or DLH - that one Ricky definitely could win.
Anyways, I enjoyed the fight, even though Hatton isn't one of my favourites - and the crowd was great as some have already said.

Hatton stops Castillo with a body shot.
He has an iron chin, not an iron body. Remember Mayweather jabbing his body the entire 2nd fight to keep him away?
Anyway, Hatton's win last night WAS amazing and I give him all the credit in the world for it. Solid, solid, solid.
I think that making inaccurate picks is starting to take it's toll on him. Lacy, miranda and now castillo.
:lol1: maybe.....I was a bit grumpy this morning and drunk when I watched the fight.
Please allow me a bit of Sunday morning hyperbole, sir. I think the Cotto and Hatton victories are about equal considering the circumstances. But when was the last time an elite fighter was dominated and ten-counted inside four rounds?
There were not any "elite" fighters in the ring last night IMO.
Are you serious?? That was the best performance by any boxer in a very long time.
You have to be kidding right?
Pavliks performance against Miranda was far more impressive......so was Cotto beating Judah.
OK, that's a reasonable post, but what I especially object to is the blatant disrespect shown towards Hatton and the attempts to ridicule his achievement by such pathetic assholes as Max Kellerman who should be banned from boxing for his post-fight interview, but Papa Kellerman will see to it that his surviving little junkie gets advanced even more in the corrupt world of boxing.
ww
i'm not saying it to try and knock hatton. but in my eyes i saw this coming a mile away. even paulie malignaggi was saying ngoudjo had more left then castillo. if ngoudjo and castillo had a rematch i would have picked ngoudjo. thats how confident i was that castillo was done
so to me, i give this hatton win a 5 on a scale from 1-10. in my eyes he was the clear favorite and did exactly what i expected him to do. i'm even baffled as to how 42+ people on this forum picked castillo to win. but anyway..
i guess if you want to criticize hatton for even taking this fight, my statements could be used as ammunition for that argument. and honestly, the hatton camp knew this was not the castillo of some years ago, so i'm sure they expected this as well. again i'm not knocking hatton, these are just facts
Good post! And another bullshit thread. And suddenly Castillo is "a shot fighter" - but he wasn't before he got in the ring with Hatton.
ww
he's not shot, he's just had the desire sucked out of him over the last 18 months.
Ok just watched it for the first time.... that fight sucked.
Hatton initiated all of the holding. Castillo only held back because Hatton was holding him. Then Hatton would throw short punches while holding.
ANY Floyd Mayweather fight > That fight. Excitement wise.
I would rather see Mayweather's "running" then that shit.
And suddenly Castillo is "a shot fighter" - but he wasn't before he got in the ring with Hatton.
ww
not suddenly, there were a few of us saying castillo was shot since his fight with ndoujo. he clearly showed signs of it then and i was fully expecting hatton to TKO him within 5 rounds.
i don't see how its so mind boggling what happened. look in castillo's eyes, hes not there anymore. the wars have obviously caught up with him. it wouldn't matter if he was 29 years old, when you've been in those kinds of fights you leave something behind in the ring.
i'm sorry but this was the easiest fight to pick since Ali/Wepner
furthermore this is not on the same par with cotto > judah. and thats not trying to knock ricky hatton. its pointing out the obvious that everyone should have seen before the fight even happened

But IMO, that leaves great room for speculation. I mean, when WAS the last time. Castillo was barely there. I don't know. It's just a bit disquieting is all. That is boggling my mind and I was not "going" for either.
I guess, it was a knockout against an obviously shot fighter who showed almost no sense of urgency during the fight. It wasnt anywhere near what Miguel Cotto had to battle through to get his win against Judah, im sorry.

this dude hatton need a woman, man. he need some lovin in his life. maybe one of his many lovers on here can help meet his needs. he hugged and held castillo and didnt want to let go. he obviously need someone to be close too.
dude is a joke if ever i seen one and anyone who sits here and protests in this dude favor like he is exciting, his fighting style is ill and he phenomenal is worse than any other dickrider out here. this fight was either fixed and they both knew, or fixed and castillo knew. this was not a clean win. the shot was a clean shot. there is a difference especially if the fight was fixed. i dont like castillo or hatton. but i know some deception in the ring when i see it. we all seen it last night
fuck Ricky hatton...he needs to stop all that gay hit and hold shit. I thought I was watching UFC I cant believe people are saying this was an exciting fight.

No doubt.....I thought I was watching the fight in slow motion......Castillo looked horrible.....I give little or no credit to Hatton all he did is clinch until he found that opening......when breaking from a clinch of course.Horrible fight horrible result woopty doo I can't believe I even wasted my time.
