I think mosely has all the tools to beat Floyd out of anyone...he can match his speed w/ extra power of course...he can go forward and cut the ring on him if he feels like it...he's as all around as u can get 2nd to pretty boy....and has the experience...
but...I question him being mentally strong (not frustrated, mind games)...cuz thats all it takes for him to beat Mayweather...
Hahaha thats not what happened Floyd has made 2 offerings to fight Mosley at 147 and Shane declined.
talk is cheap! when he pushes a signed contract in front of Mosley you can call it an offering. Its easy for any fighter to say I'll fight so and so but the devil is in the details.
use the jab
absolututely he has fought one guy with a great jab and when he used it he dominated Floyd. DLH as usual got tired. but that is a great way to neutralize his speed, frustrate him and set him up for combination punching. In fact I really cant think of anyone else Floyd has fought who you can say has a good/great jab like Hoya.
Mosley called out Mayweather because he isn't getting the money he wants. he made less than 4 million to fight Collazo, and there is no one out there at his weight that would get him the bigg purse he wants except Mayweather.
Now, you ask why wouldn't Mayweather take that deal seeing he's been calling out Mosley for years? Because now Shane will try and split the pot with him when Floyd is making far more per fight than Shane, and Shane fought the better fighter in Collazo than Mayweather did in his last bout at 147, Baldomir.
Basically, now that's it's fiscally convenient for Shane, and Shane realizes his career is winding down, that it's finally OK to take up Mayweather's offer. However, Floyd can see right through it because Shane's offer is completely transparent in why he is chosing to offer it now.
this whole situation is laughable at best. Who else could Mayweather fight that would generate as much excitement and money? Winky or Jermain Taylor at 160? yeah right. Mayweather chooses opponents based on two main qualities, risk and reward. The reward to beating Mosley would be eclipsing a fighter whose achievements have possibly rivalled that of his own, an opponent that is probably considered the most talented although somewhat faded he has ever faced. A chance to showcase his skills and take another step up the ATG list if he wins and especially if he wins impressively. Even if Mayweather would take an even split or short money in the fight It would be a slice of a large large total purse. Far more money than he would get from any other opponent at 154 or below. The risk, is obvious, he would be facing a guy who has all the tools to beat him and beat him soundly.
Mayweather's career strategy obviously mimics his fighting style; minimize risk maximize reward. On paper this is probably the only fight that could make mayweather the kinda $$$'s he thinks he deserves now, but maybe. maybe its just too much rick for the pretty boy. I personally think the fight is all but made and in the name of drama and marketing we are being duped by Mayweather and Golden Boy.
Maybe pulling a Hopkins could work. And by that I mean bully him on the inside, using elbows and headbutts, clinging on his arms and neck and making him carry your weight a little bit.
Punching him with straight rights, then go directly to his chest and start mauling him again. You would have to be strong and relentless, and you would have to make Floyd scared of being hit.
Shane Mosley has been calling him out for years
and floyd only gets that money because HBO is the biggest mayweather mark there is
Hahaha thats not what happened Floyd has made 2 offerings to fight Mosley at 147 and Shane declined.
i don't see any fighter from 154 down beating floyd, and there's some greta fighters at these weights, well, mainly 147. keys to beating mayweather imo goes as followed.
-you have to train unorthodox to throw mayweather off of his game, but not like to the point where you look very sloppy because he will potshot you and you will lose. you have to come in with a gameplan that completely confuses the shit out of him, but at the same time, have the skills to keep it up the whole night. stealing rounds against floyd is smart in doing this too.
-your stamina has to be at an all time high. floyd fights in stacato form like lampley put so well in his fight against oscar. he choses his punches wisely and keeps his stamina up well doing this, this is why he comes on strong during the latter part of his fights. he trains his body to go more than 12 rounds, hell maybe 15 to 20 rounds even, but he fights at a steady tempo, which is why you have to take control of the fight early on while confusing him, because of his ring savvyness. he knows the ring very well and knows how to use it as a weapon in a defensive form however. he fights off of the ropes well, but if you throw punches in bunches but in an unorthodox manner like faking a right hand and hitting him with a left hook to the body or faking a left hand and hitting him with a right hand upstairs, you will land some clean shots on him imo, but you have to be prepared for counterpunches and you have to use speed in this also.
-mayweather is very methodical in the ring. he can win rounds by doing absolutely nothing except controlling the fight and potshooting, which is why he is so good. his defense is excellent but he can be punched, you have to use combinations a lot against him, and you should probably switch your stance alot against him to throw his off and keep him guessing, because as the fight progressess he gets into this zone where it becomes his fight and it's up to him to see if he loses or not. you have to keep him out of this zone and play mind games with him, because he will play them with you. and he's fast as shit so this doesn't help you much unless you prepare for speed and throw with speed yourself.
in other words, you just have to have a great night, and be on point to beat mayweather, and this is not an easy task by any means, even at his higher weights. because power don't mean shit unless you can land it effectively and a lot because mayweather does have a chin. the best tool one should have against floyd is speed, not power, although power does help, speed is the factor, and you have to box differently the whole night, and keep him confused like baldomir did the 1st 3 or 4 rounds against him, but he lacked the speed. mayweather is a boxing guru, don't try to outbox him. i'm sure he spars with many different style fighters and prepares for everything, and even in his actual fights, he does something different. you have to be ready for this and his adjustments because he can adjust to any style, but if you keep him guessing, he won't be able to adjust to effectively, because your style will keep shifting to something else. he mostly moves very well and has quick upperbody movement, you will miss shots and you will get countered, don't let this frustrate because if you do, he won't give you as chance to break out of that frustration.
he's not unbeatable by any means, no fighter is, but he is very hard to beat, and i don't see anybody from 154 down beating him, but we'll see.
The way to beat PBF is good speed & CONSTANT pressure.
Good jabs and body work with the above added will beat PBF.
Zab showed how to do it with speed in the 1st round. If Zab could have kept up that pace...well. If Zab fought like Castillo or Castillo had Zabs speed that would be the fatal concoction.
For the record, Ima big PBF fan.
LOL at the idea that there is a gameplan that will beat Mayweather. The best they've mustered so far is a "split decision" against De La Hoya (Mayweather won 8 rounds) and a "screwjob win" over Castillo (Mayweather won 7 rounds). I love it. Keep crying, fellas. There is no gameplan.
You have to be a spectacular athlete to have a chance. Or outweight him by 20 pounds.
Mosley and elite 160+ pounders have a chance and that is it.
word up. he will run through mosley too. floyd at this point is unbeatable
the way I see it, is that Oscar has already beat him in my book..I dont think I would like to see the fight again to be honest as it wasnt even close to the kinda fight we was lead to believe it was gonna be..Not like the Hatton Castillo fight on saturday!! Its gonna be a battle thats for sure!
I say you just be more active. He'll have his countering moments though. But he is very, very selective with his punches. So I'll say outhrow him and connect at a decent percentage. And a constant jab wouldn't be a bad idea. One main thing as far as his movement, is to corner him where he is an easier target. Do not try and fight him in the center of the ring he's just too fast.
Out of all I said, you mad about my first sentence. lol Anyways thanks for the feed, I wanna know what other people think too.
I know, but that's what I meant by sticking to the gameplan. I'm sure trainers tell their fighters to cut off the ring.
Everything else you said or at least the parts I read was reasonable. Basically to beat Floyd(easier said than done) you have to outwork him and LAND. You have to be on him for 3 minutes of the round for almost the entire fight. Doing that will make Floyd use energy and have to throw combinations. Oscar didn't make Floyd use up too much energy. Oscar's body attack didn't do much damage and he lost his jab late in the fight.
Castillo made Floyd fight, Oscar could not. I don't see how the Castillo fight was a robbery. It was a close decision. Nobody dominated.
Mosley called mayweather out twice and floyd wouldnt come up in weight until mosley moved, and then he offers a fight when dude gets a broke tooth, and then when mosley calls him out AGAIN mayweather says no cause he wont fight a "sparring partner" Floyd knows Oscar put some fear into him and he dont want no part of Mosley, so why dont you get your head out of mayweathers ass long enough to keep you from posting things you know nothing about obviously
Mayweather called out Mosley first (twice). First Mosley said he need to fix his tooth then he said family vaction. That is a fact get real, Mayweather will probably fight Mosley but he is giving a taste of his own medicine. Peace
man tredh are you blind as well, name at least 10 fights in recent memory that came down to a judges decision that were accurate callings on what happened in the fight, judges dont know shit about boxing, they see pretty colors and fast flurries and say thats our man
10? Okay.
1. Mayweather-Baldomir (118-110) CORRECT DESCICION (and I am the biggest Baldomir fan on the board)
2. Calzaghe-Lacy (119-109)
3. Wright-Trinidad (119-109)
4. Mosley-Collazo (118-110)
5. Hatton-Urango (119-109)
6. Wright-Quartey (117-111)
7. Marquez-Barrera (115-113)
8. Pacquiao-Larios (120-108)
9. Morales-Pacquiao I (115-113)
10. Johnson-Woods II (116-112)
HAH! and the list keeeeeps going.

if Jerry Roth is the judge in Mayweather's fights, he WILL give the split dec. to Mayweather(proof: Castillo first fight...ODLH) no matter what.
Keys to beating Floyd Mayweather:
1. Make him fight your game - Instead of following him, just simply utilize YOUR gameplan. Mayweather doesn't like to fight on his tippy toes. If you don't let him know that the fight will play out on YOUR terms then before you know it, at the end of the 4th round you'll be down 4-0 with your corner telling you that you're in danger mode if you don't utilize YOUR gameplan while Roger Mayweather is in Floyd's ear sayin "yeah you're whoopin his ass" so be sure to set the pace! If you set the pace early on, it will force HIM to adjust to YOUR gameplan.
2. Force him to throw and COUNTER - Mayweather's speed is exceptional, but he is primarily a COUNTER puncher. I'm not saying he is always a counter, but that is his primary goal, to pick you apart. How do you pick someone apart? By COUNTERING. Now, when fighting Floyd, you have to be able to react QUICKLY. Floyd is an extremely fast jabber, but as I said earlier he is a counter puncher. Throw faints at him with your block up and counter his jab with a hook or uppercut. You can even counter with a jab if you're not too sure the hooks will land properly. This goes along with the first step about fighting YOUR fight/gameplan and not his.
He will counter you all night and he will dance around you all night with no intentions of actually knocking you out. DON'T ALLOW HIM TO DO THIS. Set up faints, force him to throw the jab. Parry this and counter with a hook or uppercut like I said before. Do this and you'll score some points.
3. Experiment in the early rounds - Don't be afraid to experiment in the early go rounds. Try to see what makes Floyd nervous in fights. Go at him, get him on the ropes and throw flurries. Floyd uses the Philly Shell defense and has the right side of his face blocked at all times. This will be a problem for orthodox fighters because they like to use their left to lead off more so than the power right. Now, this isn't huge problem BUT fighters that like to lead jab or whatnot will have to adjust. Here's how to do it.
Floyd's defense leaves the left side of his face open for shots all night. The thing is, he has great mobility/agility. Throwing faints will force him to block when not needed, this can leave openings for QUICK(gotta be fast bro)jabs and uppercuts, no hooks. Fake like you're throwing a right. He will lift the left arm and use his elbow and forearm to block with the right arm still in place. Quick left uppercut, trust me on my life it will catch him. If you're not confident in the uppercut then use the quick left jab. Do this and you score some points.
4. Keep your block up at all times - While you're forcing Floyd to fight YOUR fight, he does a good job at adjusting so be sure to keep your block up when you're not swinging. This WILL help you in the long run if you're unable to really KD or hurt Floyd.
5. Practice counter manuevering - While utilizing your gameplan, please be sure to move, duck, bob and weave. Don't just stand there.
Floyd won against Castillo and De La Hoya. Get over it. The Castillo fight was like 5 years ago. Not a bad plan but that doesn't mean it'll work. Floyd can play mind games with you.
