Who do you think is the best fighter of our generation?
I'd have to say proberly roy jones junior as he acomlished so much and when on form he was great to watch and basically untouchable.
Roy is it for me. I just feel privlidged to have seen someone so gifted.
But if you go by resumes he doesnt compete. Take out a early hops, tony and ruiz and you dont have much.
Although his resume could certainly have been better if he was more of a fighter and less of a "business man". It still wouldent be great

In what generation are you talking about A.T. or B.T. (after Tarver or before)
1) Roy Jones
Naseem Hamed's skill cannot be constrained by time.
LOL at people putting Floyd, fucking scrotums.
Naz is nothing compared to even Pacquiao. If Pacquiao isn't recognized as the best in the world, and Mayweather is, then obviously Mayweather has done more this generation than Naseem Hamed.
Floyd has to be #1. He was undefeated and never lost many rounds. I would put RJ second.
Its hard to jude because boxing is so different now then in years past. The people fought way more often in the past so a loss wasnt seen as that bad of a thing but if you lose now then it seems to wipe away everything you have done and people call you a flat out bum. I think Morales was a bad boy for as long as he lasted.
Floyd is definatly the most complete fighter. You have to give him that. He's the only guy without a real flaw
agreed. there can be no other answer really.
I would choose Roy Jones Jr., Joe Calzaghe, Floyd Mayweather, Wladimir Klitschko, or Ricky Hatton.
hahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahaha
Gotta be Naseem Hamed
hahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahahahahahahhahahhaahahahaha
If you look at as opposition fought and heart I would have to go with DLH. He may have lost most of his big fights but you should give him credit for taking them in the first place. He didn't do what some of the other fighters did. By saying that I mean he didn't pick fighters he know he could beat. He chose those fights because they were the best and he wanted to fight them. Thats what true champion and warrior does. When he fought Mosley he knew that Mosely had good speed and power advantage over him. He took the fight anyway. He even agreed to the rematch knowing that the same thing could have happened again. But he took the rematch anyway. He was courageous enough to fight Trinidad, a man no one wanted to mess with at the time cause of his punching power. He said fuck it and said "I wanna fight this guy cause he's real good." The same thing goes for Hopkins and Mayweather. He didn't back down and tried his best against these guys. You can't be any realer than that in my book.
De la Hoya did fight the best of his era but he also had a lot of shit with him in those fights. He lost convincingly lost to Mosley @147 so what does he do makes a man who jumped 2 weight classes to fight you at 147 makes him come up to 154 for the 2nd fight bullshit. Fought Trinidad the first time on even terms I would called it a draw but had no arguement if De la Hoya was given the nod. Was known Tito had outgrown 147 De la Hoya would not give him the rematch at 154 just like De la Hoya will not fight him now at 160. You see all the shit he did with PBF for there fight. He may not have been that selective in who he picked to fight but since he was the draw he set shit up to give him more advantages and I don't knock him for that.
Gotta be Naseem Hamed
are you fucking retarded? barrera showed the world who naseem really is. take that bullshit somewhere else. we're talkin about boxing, not the bum hall of fame

I would say Tyson beacuse he was my favorite fighter I looked up to Tyson beacuse i am 18 and everytime i would see Tyson i had my eyes stuck to the tv set but then all the rape charges came along and i started liking Roy Jones, Chavez SR. and De La Hoya but the Tyson came back and i was like the happiest boxing fan but then look what happened he screwed himself again
sorry I just think your way off man... floyd boxes very well.. thats all he does.. a true great can do it all.. yer missing the big picture about a truly dominataing fighter of our generation, floyd dont touch roys domination in that ring.. beleive that...
Are you insane? Did you read my second post where I said that Floyd is by far the most complete fighter. How can you say that all he does is box? RJ is close but Floyd is better. He's mentally tougher then Floyd, who can adjust better during a fight then Floyd, who has a better D, who has more speed? Lets move to Offense where Floyd is so underrated. There is no fighter out there that has a more complete Offensive arsenal then Floyd. No one. He just doenst get credit for it. He doesnt get credit for his power but he's got some nice pop and like RJ, he had a ton of KO's when he was at his natural lower weight. Who's a more accurate puncher then Floyd? Who's more fundementaly sound then him? He can throw a perfet jab, he goes to the head & body, and he can throw every punch in the book. People just dont think about it much because he doesnt stay offensive all the time like some other guys and some fights he throws more punches then in others but you cant deny that he has it in his game. He also doesnt get nearly enough credit for his fighting skills. How many guys are better at him at in-fighting? Its not all about power. Have you seen Floyd when he's in the pocket? He'll stand right there shoulder to shoulder and will block or slip all your punches and then throw blistering counters with pin point accuracy.
Now lets compare Floyd to RJ. Dont get me wrong, Im a huge RJ fan. He's probally in my top 3 favorite fighters of this era. The speed is similar and the mental part is similar. Ill give RJ a advantage on O just because he is somewhat more Offensive and Ill give Floyd the advantage on D because he is just flat out better. Here is where they seperate. RJ is unorthodox and depends all on his speed & reflexes. Once they went then he was not the same guy at all. That wont happened to Floyd because he is strictly fundemental in everything he does. He's like James Toney. If you have those solid fundementals then you can fight forever and still do well
