I'm a Taylor fan and i'm not bashing the guy but what the hell happened? Pre-hopkins he was alot more of a beast, well atleast letting his hands go and using the damn jab. He needs to use his size and learn how to cut off the damn ring. I wonder where Stewarts blood pressure is at after this fight.
I disagree about his heart. You want middleweights with heart just look at Miranda or Palvik. Neither had to fight each other but did. I think Taylor is a HBO generated champion bought and paid for. The same standards people now use to justify his wins while champion were absent when he was the challenger. I still believe the fix was in when he fought Hopkins. What I mean is Hopkins controlled himself and the big money players wanted someone else, it wasn't blatant cheating but they influenced the judges thru the sanctioning bodies to give every benefit to their new flavor of the month, Taylor. Now that he's champion he acts like he is the second coming of Marvelous Marvin Hagler. As Larry Holmes would have said. Taylor isn't good enough to carry Haglers jock strap. Heart, He need to gets some balls not heart.
I think his confidence was severely affected after facing so much criticism in his fights with Hopkins and Winky. You can tell he's feeling stressed by the way he exploded in the press conference and the way he tightens up in the ring.
I still give props to Taylor... He continues to do enough in the ring to convince judges. He is still making tons of money and he will continue to make money.
Taylor just hasnt got the heart to fight with risk he wants to do as litle to keep his title and make money. simply put he sees being a boxeras a job and doesnt like the game
Simple, proctected TV fighter. Sooner or later he'll be cornered , have to fight a legitmate threat, them oh how the excuses will fly. He should thank god it was Spinks and not a real middleweight he fought last night. He had the nerve to talk smack about Miranda after the fight. He doesn't have the stones or the talent to fight Miranda or any other real in their prime middleweight.Wanna bet he fights Calzaghe next. Here's why. Calzaghe is in his mid 30 thirties and doesn't have the punching power of Miranda or Pavlik, their hoping Calzaghe is due slow down because of his age and is the least risk.
